If your staying at a resort that doesn't have a table service restaurant, say POP Century, will they give you the TIW discount in the food court?

Yes. You can also get a discount at counter service locations at the AK, along with the food courts at the All Star resorts.

What about Coronado Springs? Also, do you have to be staying at those resorts to get the discount? Sometimes we like to visit the other resorts. Thanks.

What about Coronado Springs? You can only use TIW at its TS restaurant - Maya Grill. It canNOT be used at the Pepper Market Food Court.

Also, do you have to be staying at those resorts to get the discount? No, you can use the TIW card at any restaurant that accepts it, regardless of where you are staying, on or off property.

.

You can also use TiW at POFQ, which doesn't have a TS, and at SSR, which didn't have one when TiW went into effect.

Also note that no tip is added at the QS places that take the TiW.

Is TIW really a good deal? We live about 14 hours from Disney and have been visiting about 1x a year. My DGrandma lives in FL and goes when we go. I have read that you can get a discount for up to 8 ppl I think. Thanks for any help :)

I am trying it for the first time this year and am interested in hearing feedback from others as well. Based on my rough calculations, it appears that the TIW card will save me more money than the DDP, but I am wondering whether others have found that this is true.

I was looking at the calculations too. The discount does seem to be more, with the DDP last year, we had 4 adults and 2 kids (3 cuz one was a baby) and our tip every night was about $20. With the price of the dining plan, it almost doesnt seem worth it for the week when you factor in another $200 for tips!

If you go at least once a year, you might want to consider what we do...
Buy an AP, take a vacation, then the next year go at least a week before your AP expires. You can get two long vacation with your AP that way. Same principal with TIW. By doing this, I can go for a year afterwards before I have to buy another AP (I usually will buy a voucher so I can take advantage before the prices increase.) you don't have to activate the voucher until your next two trip year starts.

For us, it is, since we enjoy signature restaurants and adult beverages, and we don't like the dining plan.

It is good for a party of 10, including the cardholder, BTW.

We love the TiW card- went for the wine/dine half marathon and it paid for itself in a few days - though we like signature dining and usually have a bottle of wine with dinner ect! I did the math and for my family of 3 (2 adults + infant) and the TiW saved us about $100 compared to a free regular dining plan during a 1 week stay (I literally went through menus and picked meals, drinks ect). We plan on going to WDW 3 times this year - so it should save us a ton! If you like to eat at the signature restaurants and to have adult beverages it may be the way to go!
