TIW card question

I know how much the card is and where we can use it but I have a question on how long the card is good for. Is it like an AP, it is good for one year from date of first use or is it good for one calendar year (Jan. - Dec.)?

12 months from the time you pay for it not calendar year.

According to the written TIW policies they say "for a spouse." I would guess that they will not permit you to get one for a relative who does not live with you. You could call TIW and ask. You should note that there is a sizeable fee ($50) for the second card.

Ours was actually good for 13 months. We got it in mid October 2009 and it is good until November 30 2010.

It seems that what you actually get is 12 full months and then they round it up to expire on the last day of the month.

So, based on this is it better to wait until you get to WDW to order/pay for the card. We'll be going in late May and I know that we'll use it again in the Nov./Dec. timeframe and possibly again in May of 2011.

I just bought one on December 19 at MK guest relations.

Originally, the CM's (I had two helping me!) made it expire on 12/19/11, but I said I'd heard they were good through the remainder of the month, so they asked someone else who said it should be good for a year plus the remainder of the month, so they redid it and it now expires on 12/31/11.

Hold on to your card like it's gold. I left mine on a table while dining, called to see if they found it the next day....no, they did not. It cost $50.00 to replace it.
