I pulled my TIW card out and realized that it must have got a bit damp during a rain storm- part of my name, and the serial number is unreadable. The black scan bar on top is still intact.

Will I have to pay the $50 replacement fee, or can they just reprint the name label?

Lesson learned- keep card in plastic!

Isn't the replacement fee for a lost card, to prevent people from saying it's lost to get a second card for free? Since the cards are active and not able to be cancelled, that's what I assume. So if you can turn in the damaged card I would imagine they will have leeway.

My new plastic one is on its way to my house and I was told there was no charge to get it. They looked up my current membership with my name and either phone number or zip code, deactivated the card in my wallet and said a new plastic one was being sent out. I would give them a call and request a plastic one - you shouldn't have an issue.

Yes if you have the card it's no charge for a new one my magnetic strip is messed up and needs to be replaced just got to member services any park and get a new one

You did not LOOSE your card. Hand it to anyone at WDW, let THEM deal with it if it fails to function. THEY chose the card stock.

Could be worse.... I can't imagine how many folks MIGHT have had to fish one of these out of a public toilet :).....
