Hi DVC family!

I have searched this but found nothing. I read on the boards that TIW may be purchased in 2012 without buying the AP? Is this in effect yet or just a rumor?

We have a split stay at AKL and BLT coming up in Fedruary for the Princess Half Marathon princess: and would love to use TIW w/o buying an AP.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It was announced in Dec. at the annual meeting but they did not give a start date as of yet.

I'm surprised that no one has called the TiW office yet to check on the start date and price. They are opened M-F business hours. We are AP holders, so we always buy the TiW. We'll be buying our new TiW card on Jan. 18th, and I will ask then, but I'm guessing we may know more by then.

I have left a message at the number listed above. I will let you know if I hear anything back.

I was on the phone today with MS and asked about getting a TIW card for our Feb trip and the CM said that they had not heard of DVC members being able to purchase them - still just Florida residents and annual passholders, as before. He said that they would normally be told of news like that and thought I had heard a rumor. I told him that it had been announced at the December annual meeting. :confused3

In the past, there have been things announced at the annual meeting that never came to be. So until there's an official announcement with details, I would not count on it.

I never received a call back. I will try again today.

Edited: I just got off the phone with Nicloe from TIW. She said she has heard about it but she has no details and it is not in effect yet. She recommended I speak to Member Services to find out when it will be available.

So, it doesn't look like it will be available for our trip on January 20th. :(

Thanks for the update. I know the folks at TiW is a small staff. I remember early on they were a staff of 2 people. It's sad that DVC makes these "Offers" but don't move forward on them. Sorry that you may not be able to take advantage of it, but you still have 2 weeks so you never know. We are AP holders, so it really doesn't affect us.

I called MS and was told the same thing by a CM who also claimed to be a DVC owner. He even checked with his supervisor who said it was just a rumor. Will watch this thread for more news. Here's hoping they make it available very soon! :wizard:

I am a FL resident and seasonal passholder, so this really is not an issue for me. But it really irks me so many of you are getting the run around. I was at the meeting, heard and saw Claire herself say this was coming, so now for you to be told this is only a rumor is ridiculous. But then again Claire was also announcing while on stage that there was a Merry Mixer that night when there really was not.

Yes I understand perks were promised at other meetings that never came to be. But the promise of on-line booking and tiered benefits were programs not yet fully designed. TIW is an existing program and it should really be a no brainer to implement.

I am sorry, but if something as simple as TIW can't happen quickly when promised, I am beginning to have little trust in our new leadership.

Thank you Lauralea for confirming that this isn't a rumor! We'll be at Disney from 2/20-2/26, as a party of 8. (4 adults, 2 juniors, 2 kids) If TIW is available to us by then I'd prefer that to the DDP. So, I'm waiting as long as possible before we make that final decision.

I checked the benefits documents online at the DVC site, and last year they were revised on 1/18/11...I'm hoping that if they're going to do the TIW this year, that it will be in the new revision.

I don't understand why they couldn't just start it up at the 1st of the year, as you say, it is an existing program.

We used TiW when we had annual passes a few years ago and loved it, our kids don't eat enough for DDP. Subscribing and hoping that this will be available by March!!

We are also hoping this will be available for us when we go in March...or worse case scenario when we are back in August :thumbsup2

Tim from dvcnews.com posted an update about the TiW card to his website:

According to a Disney Vacation Club spokesperson, details are still being finalized for the Tables in Wonderland offering. Current projections are that the dining card will be available for member purchase sometime in "early spring" 2012. That would place earliest card availability in the late-March / April timeframe.

Thanks! Oh well...sounds like it won't be available for late February then...unless they consider that spring. :rotfl2:

DVC is probably working with the restaurant owners to block the DVC tables that will only be cleaned every 4 days ;)

But that will be considered a DVC perk. The rest of the general public will get the tables cleaned a a discount not available if you own DVC.;)

We will be there late Jan, so it looks like we will miss out. Oh well. Maybe next time. Need to cancel my V&A reservation.
