This will be our first year with a TIW. If we prepay for CRT will they give us a credit when we arrive? Also, should I wait until we get to Disney to purchase the TIW? I don't want it to be active until the start of our trip. We are trying to get 2 trips in before it expires.

Yes CRT will give you a credit when you present the TIW card
We always wait and purchase our card the day we arrive to maximize its benefits
Enjoy

Yes the discount amount is refunded after showing the card and settling the bill.

No need to buy it now. Do it when you get there. Take the AP or DVC card or proof of FL residence (whichever way you're qualified to buy TIW) to guest services and it should be a quick transaction.

Thanks! I don't mind paying up front but I really want that discount :)

In almost all cases the refund is made at CRT when you dine there because the server wants to see the card. Once in a while someone will post that the CM on the phone gave them the discount when they made the reservation, but this is not very common.

It's better to wait and get the TiW after you arrive in DW because the card is live as soon as it is purchased. Usually the expiration date is approx 13 months after the purchase date (e.g. purchased on June 15, 2015, it will expire on July 31, 2016.

Of course, that is done so that a person CAN order it by phone and have it mailed without losing any of the *year* of use that it's supposed to have, but we all of course take total advantage of the 13 months. :)

Exactly! :thumbsup2 I want my valid date to start when I arrive a DW and not a month before.
