TIW and buffet meals Question.

Not to start anything, but am I reading it correctly that it's an automatic 18%tip on all tables services, that's including the buffets, right? I have absolutely no issues with that tip for table meals, but for buffets, 18% sounds alittle much to be bringing me a soda.

This thread will likely get closed because tipping is supposed to remain on the tipping thread, but I want to address one thing.

Servers at buffets do a lot more than just bring you a soda. They have to return to your table many times during your meal to repeatedly clear off your used plates. They actually come to your table more than servers at regular TS restaurants. Now if your plates were to stack up and not get cleared or your drink isn't getting refilled then you can complain to a manager about the lack of service, but standard service at buffets is a lot of work for servers.

To answer your question, yes the 18% will automatically be added to your bill. It is what it is. If it upsets you then I would suggest not choosing buffets. You don't want to have memories of getting upset during your vacation. There are lots of wonderful non-buffet restaurants at WDW including some character meals if that's why you want to go to buffets (Garden Grill, Akershus and CRT are character meals that aren't buffets). If you do want to eat at buffets then I suggest considering it just part of the price and not think about it. You'll enjoy yourself a lot more this way.

Yes unfortunately this automatic gratuity (kind of an oxymoron if you ask me) is included on the buffet meals as well.
