I went when it was in Chicago, I liked it very much. I have always been fascinated with the Titanic, even before the movie came out. The only thing I did not like, was that at our museum, when you exited the exhibit, you were in a gift shop. To me, these exhibits were a part of someone's grave. I would definitely go see it again.

I also saw it in Chicago and thought it was amazing.

For a description (hope it doesn't get too long):

Walked in after getting Boarding Pass and walked into hallway lined with staterooms. Exact replica of carpet, wallpaper, doors, etc. Saw a first class stateroom, then went around hallway and saw second class. Then went "down" to third class - even heard noise of engines.

At one point you went into main lobby with huge staircase and chandelier that you have seen on Discovery channel. There were a ton of pictures and actual artifacts. At one point you go "outside" were it was a brisk 37 degrees and you were standing on deck. When you looked at "sky" it was the exact star pattern that was visible from Titanic on fateful night.

There was a "glacier" that you could touch to imagine temperature in water.

There was a 16 ton section of hull that you could touch.

There are also wonderful exhibits of the dining rooms and dishes and some recreations of how artifacts were found in the water.

I thought it would just be rooms with artifacts in cases and pictures on the wall, it was so much more.

It is so worth the money. We even took the kids 4 and 8 and they enjoyed it also.

Sorry this was so long - hope it answered your questions.

Thanks for your help! I am sooo happy I added this to our agenda... I only had a tiny brochure about it... and I did ck out their website...

I too have been a titanic fanatic since long before the movie... but hearing your opinions, made me really excited for this! I was thinking it may be boring for the kids but sounds good!!1

Hi, on the website it says that this closes at 8pm. does this mean they stop letting people in, or everyone has to leave at this time?

It also says that they open at 10am, but the first tour is at 10.30. Could we just go in at 10 and not go on the tour?

thanks:D

Beezle2,

I don't know the official website, but you can find some info and print a "buy one, get one" coupon for admission on: www.ibidusa.com Go to the Central Florida section, then click on all Orlando auctions, then scroll down through the auctions to find one for the Titanic exhibit. If you click on it, some info will come up about the exhibit, as well as a link to a coupon you can print out. I understand you can find coupons and discount tickets elsewhere also...no reason to pay full price for this attraction in my book!

The Titanic Ship of Dreams exhibit is located in the Mercado area of I-Drive in Orlando. We haven't been yet, but are planning to on our Dec. trip. DH always been interested in the Titanic, so this is a must-do for him.

:D

I have seen two versions of this now (Orlando and Detroit) and the Orlando version is far superior. It has been at The Mercado for more than two years now and they have gradually enhanced it with more artifacts and exhibits and some superb actor/actress involvement, telling the story of the disaster right from the start. It remains a touch macabre (making an attraction out of such a huge loss of life) but it remains quite fascinating and I think this tells the tale extremely well.
