TISWAS or Swap Shop?

I preferred TISWAS before Sally James joined - I think it was introduced by John Asher and Peter Tomlinson (often dressed as Tarzan) and Chris Tarrant would just be on for some of the programme. But I was rather fickle and would channel hop between TISWAS and Swapshop.

I must have channel-hopped, too, because I definitely watched both and that was pre-VT! I guess, as a girlie (;)), I probably preferred Swap Shop, and my brother was the TISWAS fan. His friend was on it - the bit where they pulled the kids up from behind the presenting desk by the hair (or was it the ears? :confused3 ). He was called Robert Parker. Strange the things you remember...

Swap shop. Never watched Tiswas.

Quality will always show and the Beeb were simply better! This argument can also be applied to the eternal 'Sally James or Sarah Greene' woodwork class debate

TISWAS was heaps better, I think the original cast, which were sat on tea chests, were Peter Tomlinson, Trevor East and Chris Tarrant. Pure adrenilin on a saturday morning. Swap Shop indeed!
