I'm guessing this is the best place to post this, but I'm not sure.

I'm looking for a list of who to tip, and how much to tip them...from the time I leave my car at the airport in my home town until the time I get back in my car at the airport in my hometown.

This will be my husband to be and my first vacation where our parents aren't handling these details. I don't want to forget someone, and I don't want to under tip (or over tip for that matter without a good reason).

Well a lot depends. If you park in the airport parking lot and take the shuttle bus I don't normally tip them. (Of course they don't actually help with the luggage). Basically anytime someone carrys your luggage tip them a dollar or two per bag. If you check your luggage with the skycap you must tip. (I am afraid of what they might do with my luggage if I don't tip!) If you check it at the airline counter you don't tip them.

Food servers generally get a 15% to 20% tip, except counter service restaurants, of course.

Housekeeper/maid tips vary by type of accomodation and services provided.

If you grocery shop and someone takes the groceries to the car for you, some areas of the country tip $1 or $2 (varies by locale). Military bases usually tip more than civilian stores...at least in San Antonio.

Valet Parking..tip the driver...some people tip the driver that takes your car, as well as the one that returns it. I usually a about $2 each.
