Hi DIS'ers!

We will probably rent a City Mini Double stroller for our vacation this September. After looking at a review of it on YouTube however it seems that the lack of storage/cupholders may be an issue.

I know the City Mini Double is a pretty popular stroller amongst DIS'ers so I was wondering if any of you had any tips and tricks to adding storage to the City Mini Double stroller. We are definitely going to have to hang a diaper bag from the handle bars for quick access. Seems like the undercarriage storage is very hard to get to.

Thanks in advance! :disrocks:

MagicStrollers includes a 3 compartment parent organizer. It spans 1 side of the double. You could bring another if needed.

You are right that the under stroller is a little difficult to get to and it's shallow. I would say one of those Mommy Hooks would be super!

This is what I dress all my strollers w/ but especially my mini and classic. for myself I use the valco baby universal cupholder, they are easy to put on and take off they also adjust so they will not be in the way when you fold up the stroller. I used a univeral rain cover that I bought from babiesrus I have the fancy 20 dollar cover but the 12 dollar cover works just fine, you have a double i don't know how much those cost, either way the cheap ones are fine. I use 2 mommy hooks that I add bags to as we go this way when we get on the buses I just take the mommy hook off and all the bags are on it and they stay together. for dd's cupholder b/c my classic doesn't fit to a belly bar or snack tray I used the munchkin brand cupholders it worked great for my dd. I wanted to get the JL childress side slings before we went on our last trip but never got around to getting them but thought I would mention them.

this is the mommy hook you can try others like this I bought some from HD i think b/c I could get them in different colors but they didn't fit.

munchkin cupholder I didn't like to use it myself b/c it doesn't stay straight but it worked out great for my dd.

Magic Strollers includes the parent console (2 cup holders and a small middle compartment) which fits across one side of the stroller and you can also request a rain cover at no extra charge (available on a first come/first served basis, I believe). And they're cheaper than Orlando Stroller Rentals. :goodvibes

Even with 3 kids, we found we didn't need to increase the storage space beyond what was on the stroller and our backpack diaper bag hanging off the back (the good thing about the backpack is you can lengthen the straps so it hangs just right on the handlebar).

The Mommy hooks are handy for holding bags of souvenirs or such, but be careful in that they do tend to tip the stroller when the peanuts jump out. :)

Thanks for this info! Was going to rent from Magic Strollers (but felt guilty about mentioning it as Orlando Strollers is the sponsor of this board) based on price alone. Didn't realize that it came with the parent console. That's great! Would be nice to have an additional one but not sure if I'd be willing to buy/rent one.

That's exactly what I was thinking with the Mommy Hooks. I figure we can get the jackets, snacks, and a bottled water or two under the stroller and the diaper bag off the back. Would love to hang more but am not sure if it would cause the stroller to tip (have never used a City Mini). Everything else I suppose would have to go in backpacks.

That said the creativity of the DIS'ers never ceases to amaze me so I bet there is some DIS'er out there that has tricked out the ever popular City Mini with more storage. Would love to hear their tips/tricks or better yet see pictures if available.

Thanks for the help Mrs D. Love these boards!

I bought this for our Peg Perego Stroller and I really like it. It can fit larger bottles, such as a Vitamin Water and big stainless steel containers. I also like the zippered portion for chapstick and other items. It is highly adjustable and I plan to bring it with me to Disney.

I also ordered this one, which I haven't used because I like the other one better. The cupholders aren't as deep on this, so I worry a bit about things falling out, but I like the open pockets and I could actually put 4 bottles in there.

Think we will definitely bring our Mommy Hooks (actually Home Depot brand) and are thinking of buying both the side slings and the jolly jumper stroller handlebar organizer.

I will let you guys know how it turns out.
