Along the same lines as above thread, any tips for a HRH newbie? Be there in 15 days!

I'm waiting for someone to respond to this thread too!. I'm always interested in tips. We will be there Aug 29.

Get a Hard Rock All Access Pass. There are some benefits you may be able to use at the resort, restaurants, and HR Cafe. It's a $25 membership, but you do get a $12 pin plus all the discounts help make up for the cost.

The Hard Rock Hotel is the closest resort to the theme parks and City Walk. Use the walking path for faster access to the parks instead of waiting for the boat launch.

Hi!

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the card once you sign up?

We're going away in 2 weeks and would like to know if it will arrive in time - or can they look up our number once we register for the card, so we can get some of the great benefits!

Thanks!

I thought I saw you could also purchase it there at the Hard Rock Resturant

I got the free one by mail, and it took at least several weeks to arrive.

I ordered it for $25 about a week ago and it came in the mail yesterday - with a small HR bag! (with strings to wear on your back.)

We go ours for free when we checked in. This was in January, you may want to confirm with the Hotel directly if they still give them out. With it we were able to use the health club and get late checkout.

Our family loved this hotel. The pool was wonderful, and the staff superb. The boat ride to the parks/CityWalk was nice. The walk was also short, with pretty flowers along the way.

We had planned on checking out the local Orlando restaurants but honestly never left the complex. So many great places to eat. (you HAVE to try Mythos, a little pricy for lunch, but so worth it).

We also walked over to Portofino and used the pool one day.

My son loved the guitar hero and they had killer ice cream in the little cafe near the pool.

Enjoy!

We are staying at HRH club room in Aug. and are super excited:goodvibes

Busymom, where did they have the guitar hero????

Thank you

I wouldn't say it's a secret - but take a day out of going to the parks and spend it at the pool! We did this and it was so great. they have a pool bar and waitresses that serve you in your pool chair. You can get a drink and relax in the 'faux' beach or swim in the pool. The pool has underwater speakers so you can hear music while sumerged. below is a picture I took this march of 2010.

Also, there is a nice restaurant in the hotel, The Palm restaurant. it was a nice place to eat, i'd reccomend it. Don't forget to take the water taxi to the parks!

Does anyone know if you can use the pool on your check-out day? I am assuming the answer is no, but it would be great if we could. :)

Yes, you can use it all day, just like you can use your room key for express access all day on the day you check out.

The Guitar Hero is right near the pool entrance.

We used the pool on our check-out day. They stored our luggage for us, and then we just used the health club to clean up and get dressed. Worked out great for us.

hard rock will also store your luggage if you want to do parks on your check out day.

yes, you can use the pool on the day of check out, but keep in mind that your room key will no longer be able to be used as your 'credit card' as you have already checked out and your account has been closed.

Take some time and go to each floor you can access. There is some fun memorabilia near the elevators on every floor.

The main entrance where you check in is on the 3rd floor. The 1st floor is where you'll find the pool, the Kitchen Restaurant and Emack and Bolio's Marketplace where you can get a quick breakfast and Starbucks Coffee on the way to the parks.

Ooooh, that's a good one. We wouldn't have thought of that, but we love looking at the memorabilia at the HR Cafes, so we'll take time to do this, for sure.

Speaking of Hard Rock Cafe, you can ask a manager for a tour of the building.* They take you places closed to the public, including a John Lennon room & backstage at the concert venue. That area also has memorabilia. It was the highlight of my son's trip the 1st time he took the tour.

ETA: This tour is free, but my DH did tip the manager. I guess that would be up to the individual.

*This is at the CityWalk location. I don't know about the others. Tell your server what you want to do, & they'll get a manager for you.
