TIPS: Star Wars Weekends 2011

If anyone here is going to Star Wars Weekends this Fri. or Sat., can you post on this thread what the park is like as far as crowds and waits for character meets and the Star Tours ride? It would be very helpful.

I will report back on Friday evening and Sunday evening.
I totally forgot about the characters around baclot tour:
Darth Vader
Darth Maul
Jango and Bobba Fett
Aurra Sing, Zam Wessel (roaming characters)
Stormtroopers should be roaming everywhere

I haven't seen them do anything like that at previous SWW events. I've never tried to get any of the exclusive merch. It sounds like most of the special merchandise will be in Jabba's Hut, behind the Rockin' Roller Coaster.

Yes, C3PO should be at Jabba's tent with R2D2 and Luke and Leia.

In years past they've done a separate line outside the turnstiles for people wanting LE merchandise, they walk the line slowly up to the merchandise location at or before park opening. This is only done the first Friday. Or at least that's what they've done in the past.

This is my first time doing SWW, we are going on June 10th and I was just wondering if the other characters in the park will still be available for meet and greet. My son loves SW so we wanted to go during SWW but my daughter not so much so I want to do some other things for her, she wants to see Pochohantas which I heard is in the animation building. They both specifically want to see Phineas and Ferb, will they be there on SWW? If so, seems like there will be alot of characters to meet.

This schedule is only for Friday, May 20. I am looking for the time for the parade so I can determine what time to have lunch. Since there is no parade on Friday, this brochure isn't good for those looking for regular weekend schedules.

All other regular characters will be out. Phineas and Pherb meet and greet is schedule to open May 29th. Pocahontas does appear at the animation building but not all the time. The best thing for you to do is when you enter the park go to guest relations and ask for the specific characters you are looking for and they will let you know if the will be available to meet that day

Funny thing about the map for Saturday and Sunday...it doesn't have the parade time, it has the route marked (same as before from park entrance to star tours) but no time. I think they just made a mistake when they made it since Friday the SW parade is not going on, they forgot to post it for Sat and Sun, I do believe it'll go on at 11:45am, if you look at the schedule of events Ashley's show is at 11:00am, her show is 30min. long, so that giver her time to go do the parade with everyone else. This is just a theory.

hello. we will be attending our fist star wars weenkend on 6/11. the kids are into star wars but also enjoy watching some of the shows. would anyone know if the lights, motor, action, extreme stunt show and the indiana jones epic stunt spectacular will still be running during the star wars weekends?

Alright, my flight leaves in three hours. I have already seen on Twitter that people have ALREADY started queuing up outside the turnstiles for tomorrow's opening. Star Wars fans are DIE HARDS!!!

Don't forget to follow me for live tweets from tonights after hours meet up and tomorrows opening day. I will try to pop back in on the boards, but twitter is so much easier to use on the fly then trying to navigate the boards.

Also, if you are in the parks and see me, feel free to say hello! I will be carrying an Animal Kingdom backpack with luggage tag that has the lime green mickey head in it.

Any tips on how to see everything, especially StarTours AND TSM during SWW??? My 16 y.o. is a HUGE Star Wars fan, but the rest of us will want to see the rest of the attractions as well. Thanks!!

UPDATED INFORMATION:
The SWW motorcade will start at 12:40pm near the entrance of the park and end at the Hat Stage with the Celebrity Welcome. So it does not go all the way to Star Tours, plan accordingly.
