TIPS: Star Wars Weekends 2011

I was there during the Gay Week and it is not "crowded" like people say. I was shocked at how un crowded SWW was that weekend, lol. We didn't wait hours for characters. Darth Vader was the most and it was, oh no, only 30-40 minutes. Don't listen to people who tell you it's so crowded.

Oh and BTW, the store that sells all of the collectibles, yeah there was no line like I was told there would be. We walked right in numerous times of the day. It's really not that bad.

The line for collectibles is usually longer on the first day, since these are on a first come, first serve basis(they do not split up the limited editions between each weekend, if they are out on the first day, they are out). I know somebody on a different forum who stood in line for 3 hours for merch. Got to the front to find out the pin they wanted was sold out.

this makes me mad:mad::mad::mad::mad: not fair to the people who cant come on the first weekend. Not cool!!!!!!!!:sad2:

Okay crazy question...we are planning on getting to HS early on May 21st to watch the storm troppers put their show on before rope drop. Does anyone know if there is a RESTROOM on the outside of the studios before you enter the park?????? I have a 7 year old who is always in need of a restroom when there is none around:confused3

Yes, as you're facing the entrance, it's on the far left side. Believe me, a lot of us waiting in the dark for the Celebrity FP's will be willing to direct you to them. :thumbsup2

Ok sorry I'm pretty sure this has been asked but on the 21st there are AM EMH (8am) so what time is the opening Storm Trooper show 8am or 9am?

I won't wait 5hrs for anything.

5-6 hours seems crazy to me too. And I don't understand why FP won't be working at the times they expect the largest crowds. I just don't understand the thought behind this. We will be there a week so perhaps we will try to ride it before the weekend.

Since this will be our first SWW, what I don't understand is all the people who say they will be there at the crack of dawn for the autograph FP. How will people be getting there? Will the buses be running so early, or are these people driving themselves or taking taxi's?

There aren't any EMH during SWW. The park is opening to everyone at 8am. The stormtroopers should be out around 7:45am.

The rumor about the FP is only for the first weekend. The reason that they wouldn't use FP is because that way the general line will always be moving, no need to stop the regular line to let people with Fp go thru. Also it seems to be that only 2 or 3 of the six simulators are working at this time son they want to give everyone the same treatment. As I said this is only a rumor at this time.
People get there as early as the night before, using personal transportation or taxis. The WDW buses start around 7:15 to 7:30am. I have waited in line from 4am to get the autograph of Dave Prowse (Darth Vader) and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) .
Today I'm going to DHS to see if I get to ride ST, wish me luck. And as usual I'll report back.
Don't forget sww.studioscentral.com has SWW chat tonight.

This is what happens when I try to function without caffeine in the mornings! I was looking at the 14th(yesterday):headache: Thanksss!

Limited edition pins were still there on the third weekend. Just saying, so don't think you will be missing out. My husband was able to get everything that he had wanted. I seriously think that people make too much hype about crowds and lines.

How to the autograph session work? I know getting the FP are free, but are the autographs free as well, or do they charge like they do in ComicCon etc?

Also, what do they sign? - Can we bring our own things to get signed (books dvds etc) or do they sign only something like a Disney Star Wars Weekend poster that is the same for all guests?

Probably, but on the third weekend, there was never ever a line. We went all weekend and walked right in numerous times of the day, lol. That's why I told the OP not to worry about Gay Week because it is not busy like I was told that it would be.

Does anyone that went last year happen to know how long the lines were to meet Ahsoka, Ventress, Boba Fett, and Chewbacca? I need a break down:lmao:! Getting pumped!!

Soft-opening riders are reporting that all six have been running. Although on occasion one of those six seems to lock up and the guests had to be moved to another simulator. But it is almost running at full capacity.

In previous years the line for character pictures varies by time of day and such. A short line is twenty minutes, a long line can be close to an hour. And you have to wait in line for each character.

Exactly ... just as an example - in order to get Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Stormtrooper Donald and Darth Goofy we had to stand in line numerous times for at least 1/2 hour each time, and sadly we didn't get them all in one day - we had to return the next day to get Leia Minnie.

Last year the Ventress and Ahsoka were in the same line, rotating. We saw them both late in the afternoon (maybe 40 minutes total). Boba Fett rotates with Jengo Fett and his line varies. We saw him around 10am, less than 15 minutes.

Chewbacca's line ALWAYS seems to be long. We got in his line around 10:30 am last year and they shut the line down behind us to make sure the line was empty so he could go in for the parade. I think we were to the front of his line just after 11 am.

If Ahsoka is the orange painted one with the striped horns....we waited 2.5hrs for her. That's the longest we waited for any character. I forget why we had to wait so long though.

The other longest line we waited in was to see Chewbacca. That one was over an hour but in the shade so not too bad.

She doesn't stay out long (I am guessing because of all the body paint in the heat/humidity).
