We are going to WDW in Feb and this is our 1st time traveling with our daughters...and we need some tips(for the plane, the parks, anything you can think of!!) We have a 1 yr old and 2mo old. We will be at the parks 3 days and we are staying on property. We will be going to AK, MK, and MGM..
DH is worried there won't be anyrides they can go on...I think he's wrong..right?!?!

You're right! The one year old can go on almost all the rides. The only rides you can't take her on would be the ones you wouldn't want to anyway - Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, etc. She'll be able to do all the fun toddler rides like Dumbo, Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World, etc. (You can also hold your baby in your lap or a baby bjorn or sling on most of the rides.) On our first trip my son was 9 months and he had a ball!

The best tip for bringing small children - respect the nap!! Try to keep on schedule (your baby probably doesn't have on, I realize) as much as you can, so that your kids are well rested and well fed. And don't try to zip through the parks squeezing in everything you can. Take it easy. Watch some parades. Toddlers can be entertained just by walking up Main Street at MK. For waiting in line, have lots of snacks handy and you'll be fine.

Have a great time! There is no age too young for Disney. :)

Second the nap. Even if you don't nap, being back at the room is nice for everyone. We didn't do that the first trip, and found it to be a life saver the next!

Don't forget: extra change of clothes, LOTS of wipes, if you use formula bring more than you think you'll need.

Tabletoppers (disposable stick-on placemats with Sesame St or other characters). Found these invaluable.

Lots of snacks for those restless times. Cheerios are a classic but should not be undervalued!

Hats!

Have fun!

Our dd were 2 and 10 months on their last Disney trip, we are returning in April, Anna will be turning 3 on the trip and Grace will be 16 mon. Great ages!!! Best piece of advice, go at their pace. We start early in the am, eat lunch by 1130, gage their mood level, then proceed with a visit to our resort for a nap and recharging or try a few more rides. After a nap we play in the pool, and head to a dinner and another park. Some days we only spend 4-5 hrs in a park in the am and then chill the rest of the day. Our dinner adr is no later than 6pm unless we are dining at our resort and the girls are well rested. I don't want to hear other peoples exhausted children screaming through a meal and I'm sure no one wants to hear mine either.

DD was five months for our first trip, and turning 1 for our second. We're going back in April at 18 months...I find myself wistfully remembering how much easier she was last March! :rolleyes1

I totally second all the PP, naps & downtime are essential. You'll be able to take your little ones on anything without a height restriction, so there will be plenty to do! A carrier or front pack for the baby will be a life saver...great for standing in line and makes loading/unloading ride vehicles much easier (especially when you've got a toddler to wrangle as well!) I'd recommend bringing a reclining stroller with you, in case either child wants to zonk out while you're walking around. Don't forget your rain cover, there's nothing worse than coming out of an attraction to find one of those lovely little FL downpours has soaked your stroller!

Just take an easy pace and enjoy seeing WDW through your little ones' eyes! Have a great trip!

The best advise I could give is to take your friends with you!! lol:)
Glad you got signed on!!

My advice would be similar to what you've already gotten...take it at their pace. When I look back at what we did on our first trip with little ones it really didn't amount to too many attractions (most of them in Fantasyland), but I do remember having a great time. The kids were happy just to be there. There's so much to see and they also were super happy to swim in the pool at the hotel. If the kids are too tired to stay late than don't push it. You can always go back when they're older. Our first trip we didn't see any of the fireworks or parades and we still had a fabulous time. The kids didn't know what they were missing. I would suggest getting ADR's for at least a couple of character meals. That's where our little ones had the most fun, especially at Crystal Palace with the Winnie the Pooh characters. Have a great trip!
