Many people seem to have a very difficult time using the lockers. Here are some tips to help:

Instead of trying to remember your 4 digit locker number, just remember which terminal you use and then just remember the last two digits because all of the lockers in that area will have the same first two digits.

PRESS LIGHTLY when you do your fingerprint scan. Remember, you do not put your finger on the computer screen for the scan but instead there is a small area below the screen (beside where you put your money or credit card if your time exceeds the free hour) where you place your finger.

Watch your time. After your free hour is up, it will cost you to open the locker. This can be a problem if your money is in your wallet that is LOCKED INSIDE THE LOCKER!!!

There are many terminals. Go to the one with the fewest people instead of queuing up at the busiest one.

If you forget your locker number, you can just go to the terminal that you used, scan your finger and it will tell you which locker you had.

Make sure you press the button to lock the locker before you leave!!!

When all else fails, ask an attendant. They are there to help.

I wish we could post your tips outside the Mummy in three foot tall letters! I am a sane, peaceful woman but there have been numerous times that I have been tempted to strangle people at the lockers!

It is just amazing to me how many people JUST DON'T READ THE DIRECTIONS! I helped numerous seemingly well-educated Americans open their lockers. Second most desirable trait among locker users would have to be that "get your stuff and move out of the crowded aisle" skill! If they had only placed those banks of lockers outside The Mummy about 18 inches farther apart... !!!

I've always wondered... what happens if the line says 20 minutes, so you put your stuff in the "free" locker... then it breaks down or something, do you still pay... I would guess you would. But always wondered.

I've been told that locker "free time" can be adjusted according to line length.

If you go over the time, just tell the attendent and he will open the locker for you without charging you any money.

. . . and don't forget to push the button to 'lock' the locker. I watched an English couple return to their locker at MIB a few trips back to find all of their stuff gone, including a costly camera and all of their IDs !!! The attendant told them they must have forgotten to push the button. Last week I caught a young girl doing the same thing on Hulk - I called her back and reminded her to push the button !! Lurkers would just have to watch for someone who walks away from the locker leaving the light blinking - they could swoop right in and clean it out.

Ever since then I also carry my flat passport holder that hangs around my neck - keep my $$, tickets, room key and cc in that and tuck in down my shirt when I get on a coaster. :smooth:

The locker will lock automatically if you forget but it takes 30 seconds or so---long enough that someone could grab your stuff if you were walking away.

Hate to be a bummer, but I say DO NOT leave anything in the lockers located at rides. Use the permanant lockers up front. Why? We went last Saturday, and we had 2 things stolen from 2 different lockers at 2 different times of the day. Luckily we found the $300 purse that was missing. The team leader said "Someone found it" Yeah right. Needless to say I will NEVER EVER use the lockers again.

palmbeachguy that's awful. so sorry to hear of your woes. so hard not to let that ruin your trip.
