Tips on tipping needed

After reading on this board about tipping for the past year- we tipped a bit more on our most recent trip we just returned from.

Basically we tipped skycap (curbside check in) each way- we had 9 checked baggage plus a stroller! Tipped $10 each time- figured it was worth it not to carry all that inside and check it ourselves with 3 children & 3 carry on bags, my purse, their backpacks with stuff to do on the plane, etc.

Limo adds on $38 tip to be paid on the first leg of the limo ride.. we paid $40- and only $10 tip on the return leg. But the driver did nothing but put bags in limo and drive.. didn't do anything out of the ordinary and in fact on the ride to the airport had the window closed to the front. Not a problem- just nothing extraordinary to deserve a bigger tip in my opinion. So I tipped $10 for transporting luggage into trunk and out of trunk onto curb at airport. That was $50 tip total for both ways though....

We stayed at ASSp for 12 nights- only 2 of which we slept in & kept the do not disturb sign up because then we rushed out... I don't like housekeeping to come in unless I've tidied up a bit (what I mean by that is clothes/toys/etc strewn all over where housekeeping has no idea what to do with them, where to put them to get out of the way to clean- yanno?) So 10 of those days when housekeeping did the room- we paid $5 tip (followed the advice here- $1 per person per day) We had the SAME mousekeeper every day (does she ever get a day off? I saw her every day- even the days I kept the do not disturb sign on the door) and first day she made a towel/pillow animal- the rest of the days she arranged characters/toys/etc in the window. Room was cleaned adequately & plenty of towels left except for one day I had to ask for more (now you have to use towels from your room at the pool- none there- so if you swim with 5 in your family you need more towels! LOL)

Tipped 15-20% or more for restaurant service depending on the service- sometimes on top of using vouchers which include gratuity already. (different situations included: 1. used 3 or more vouchers only without buying additional meals- adequate service- did not add extra gratuity- this only happened once LOL--- 2. used vouchers but better than adequate service- added additional gratuity. ----3. used vouchers but also bought a child meal or two paid for without voucher- then we paid additional gratuity also- usually 15-20% or more of the amount paid for extra meals)

Oh and tipped $5 to the airport employee that helped us out with a dolly for our luggage when we returned to DFW airport- all the way out to our vehicle. It was so worth it- I would have tipped more if I'd had more cash besides 20's and $1 bill I had to use to pay the toll on the way out! LOL

Let me think.... who else did we tip.... I think that's about it. Basically tipped room service (but she didn't JUST clean... kids enjoyed the towel animal the first day and the arrangements in the window from then on- and even when we had the do not disturb sign on- we saw her doing rooms next to us and she'd ask if we needed towels or bedding- she was nice.... name was Mercy btw), anyone pertaining to handling all our luggage, limo driver, and anyone providing table service at restaurants. Only sit down though- I did not tip people just taking my order and handing me a ticket at counter service places- where I then picked up my order and took it to my table and took my trash to a trash can after we were through. I don't think someone sitting there just taking an order & taking pymt requires tipping- and they are probably paid more than waittresses also.

When taking a taxi on property, I know you tip the driver, but do you also tip the person who calls the cab for you(e.g. person at the valet parking stand)?
