Tips on maximizing touring plans with AP (without burn out)

Just as I'm beginning to get comfy with creating touring plans that suite "our way" of things, I'm now suddenly feeling like a fish out of water again. We've been planning a 10 day Oct trip for months. We're now working in a short surprise Aug trip for DD's bday. And with us (lord willing) going back again June 2017; it makes sense to upgrade to an AP while there in August. (Yay)...Problem is, it's now making me scrap everything I've planned so far for Oct. I'm getting a lil "drunk" on "holy cow we can spend every second in the parks now". Yeah, and we also still don't want to come home needing a vaca from vaca. Our usual style is we're laid back night owls, we love our sleep, we've only been to one MK RD (torture to us), and typically close down (like literally lol) each park we go to. This is also our 1st stay @ a Mod, and I was really looking forward to enjoying the resort (to justify the upgrade). Catch 22, bc now same feeling about enjoying the AP...Calling all touring pros...any advice or sharing of your own experiences would be greatly appreciated.:disrocks:

Thank you! Makes sense, and I recognize good dilemma to have...working through first timer's feeling of the "unlimited" park power lol...:ssst:

I think if anything it leads you to worry less about doing it all.
You know you'll be back if you were to miss something.
And you are more inclined to stop by the park on arrival or departure day just for an hour or two (where you'd probably not want to buy a ticket for that day).
Again, that lets you hit up one thing you may have missed otherwise.

We have the exact same style as you- sleep in and stay til close. The only thing that really changed for us was arrival/departure days. If we can squeeze in a couple of hours to eat or shop at a park, we usually do instead of hanging out at the resort. We also stop by EPCOT just for lunch and then move on to our planned park for the day, whereas before we did not park hop.

It really does just give you more freedom to pop into a park if you feel like it without worrying about getting your money's worth.
