Tips on DDP....

Has anyone been 'double-tipped' while on the DDP? Meaning, the server take the tip "out of the card" (by accident or not) and left a CASH tip w/o knowing. How was this handled. This will be our first time using Free DDP and wondering how I can avoid errors.

Haven't heard of anything - but since you have to sign a slip to authorize any charges (whether room key or credit/debit card), assuming you ordered items for which you have to pay, simply confirm that the charges are correct before you sign anything. Voila! No problem.

I also haven't heard of anything like that. I think they have automatic gratuity for parties over 6?? anyone

For sure on the disney website it states that an automatic 18% will be added to the total for groups of 6 or more.

However, it seems to me after wandering around this site, MOST of the time they will ask you how you'd like to handle the tip.

No problems on the tips.

Either write cash on the receipt and leave cash, or carry a credit card or you can charge it to your room, set up room charging when you check in.

The server will bring two slips to sign, 1 for the plan, which should read $0.00 and one for the tip.

Meal ticket will give totals and suggested tips 18% and 20%.

BTW my meal plan for 4 was $971.02, my resturant and QS meal totals without tips was $1364.35. So it is worth it, I suggest booking ahead and going to more character meals/shows. I had 8 meals left over, yet we left Disney @ 6 am Saturday and drove home.

This is right, though by 'how you'd like to handle the tip' the posters here mean how you will pay for your 18% tip (for parties of 6 or more). Cash, credit or room charge.
