Hey what is the fast room-hop technique Lauralee was talking about?

I would like to know this too.

And how long you have wait in each room.

The last couple of days I have only been able to get about 2 hours all day, but my hubby is going out of town for the week so I hope to get on more. I will just have to be running back and forth from the sewing room to the computer room. I got some projects to take care of before the end of the month.

I usually start my days confused, but I am lost about what everyone is talking about: .
And on top of all that I'm definition of dreaded word "newbie ". It has been 15 years since WDW.

What is host and what are people doing looking for host? It all sounds very interesting. I'll be there for 10 days (arriving Sept 21 ) & only doing WDW--no rushing around.

Can anyone explain short version what is being talked about? If it's too drawn out, not to worry. I appreciate the help though.

We are talking about a host event online for VMK, not something at the actual parks. VMK is the Virtual Magic Kingdom set up to be just like the real park but only online.

I was reading over your thread and I have a something to point out.. When I was in a Public Room and the Host came it did seem that the room had been locked, because as soon as she said what my prizes were the room filled and she left, so my theory is that they do in fact lock the rooms-

I have not seen it done in public rooms yet, the host shows up and people still keep coming in until the maximum capacity is obtained.

I will not call you lose hers because you are not, you just have not figured out how to find those sneaky and elusive hosts. So I will post tips on how to catch up to them and maybe you can win also. So far I have caught the hosts a minimum of 12 times or more but I don't always get the prizes because I already have some of them. The reason I keep looking is because I want the room, the other pin I did not get, and the green lightcycle. When I get them I will quit hunting those hosts down. Hear that host's? Just give me those 3 prizes and you won't see me anymore.

12 times? I have seem lily twice in the same day and didn't get any prize at all.

I am not saying that the host was only look for hats, it could be shirts, pants , or shoes. Just try to be different and not dress alike. If a person in the room wins the room, the rest win a smaller prize usually. And a smaller prize is better than no prize.

The first time I saw Lily one boy got a room and the rest of us got nothing.
Honestly that is what ticked me off, I have waited and played every day and when I see her (twice) I got nothing both time. I just would have rather not see her at all then get my hopes up like that. Boy, I was jumping up and down in my chair screaming "I won" the let down was very bad both times.

They did the same to me the first few days, all I heard was "I am looking for something specific" and poof they are gone. It is a let down when you think you have won and than you get nothing. But keep trying especially during the week when it is less busy.

That is correct. They lock public rooms as well.

They are full not locked. I have been the third person in a room and the host shows up, than I message my sister and friends and so do others, and than people pop in everwhere until the room is full. Besides if they are locked people would get "that area is not available" instead of "waiting in queue".

How long do you spend in each room? Just look to see if a host is in a room and move on if not?

I pop in just for a few seconds to look for those red ears on a person, than off to the next room. Be careful and not move too fast or you might not notice the host, sometimes they stand right in the room entrance along with other people and you may not seem them very easily. Sometimes when I get tired of searching, I just walk room to room and take my chances with whatever room I show up in. I don't usually find any hosts but after 2 hours or so of searching, the hosts are probably lucky I don't find them.

Since your on eastern time like us, your best chances are probably during the week and at night when the kids are starting to go to bed, or during the day when they have the events while the kids on the west coast are still in school.

The weekend sessions are alot harder in my opinion just like today, tons of rooms to check. Don't give up hope and if you can only get on VMK a few hours a week, try the times I suggested.

When I won I was in a Public Room by myself- and nobody came in at all it was just me and the Host. Then right after she said I had my dreams at least 10 people all popped in at once. I still dont think that was just a coincidence.

I think it depends on which host it is. Fin may lock it while Hula may not.

1) Pick a room and stay in it
2) go afk
3) check inventory every week or so.

I had no idea when how or who. But up comes the fireplace to the suite in my furniture inventory and low and behold the suite in my rooms invnetory. I had to of been afk in some public room.

Wish I could give credit to what I wore or who gave it to me but once again no clue. I did not think you could be afk to win that.
