Tips for waitlist, please

We have the Poly as home resort but at time of initial booking didn’t have enough points for the whole (2 room) booking so we ended up with a split stay at Saratoga for one room party when the other points became available in August. The DVC person it should be no problem to get the rooms needed at the Poly but it’s been months. I’m a little doubtful. Any tips on getting the needed room nights at the Poly. Feb 24-28, 2022

Feb is a long time from now. You need a POLY member to cxl their Feb trip and most are busy with the holiday's . They will only cxl once they are SURE they are not coming .
Only thing YOU can do is stock availability and book one day as they come available.

That is the week of Winter break for many of the northern schools. I think a waitlist for 4 nights will be difficult.

I’d keep checking and see if you can snag a few nights here and there and shorten the waitlist if possible to piece it together.

I usually pick up by few nights by stalking and update the wait list. I think you will have a good chance picking all the nights needed since February is still far away. Good luck!

Stalk stalk and stalk some more.... I was able to put a week together in a 1 bedroom at the Riviera within 2 to 3 weeks by stalking and calling whenever I could. Good Luck!

I had a 2 day waitlist come through for a BLT lake view studio come through about three weeks ahead. And that was for Dec 6 & 7 this year. Usually a very busy time for DVC.

But also stalk, you never know.

I’d put in two 2-day waitlists instead of a 4-day waitlist, which is tough to fill. Also, make sure it’s standard view which has a lot more rooms.

Just thought I’d update…we got the rooms requested on the wait list! A few weeks ago checking on reservations and such my FIL said he only had one room reservation, instead of the one at Poly and Saratoga. Just Poly. At first I was worried his Saratoga reservation disappeared. Panic mode! But upon closer inspection it was just Poly for all vacation dates!
I thought DVC would send us a note that we got in on the wait list, or there’d be confetti or sparklers, but nope.

So there’s hope. Just neede some faith, trust, and pixie dust.
