Tips for using DDP or QSDP

I have never used the dinner plan before and I'm trying to decide if it will be a good deal for us. We typically eat CS most of the time with 2 character meals, SciFi and maybe one other TS. I will try to make sure the kids get what they want and then to save money end up sharing with them. So I get tired of eat hotdog and hamburgers for the whole trip. It would be nice if we all got what we wanted to eat.
I read that you can trade TS for CS credits on the DDP and CS credits for snack credits on the QSDP. Can you tell me the details on how this works?

You can trade points BUT the DDP is probably not worth it if you plan to eat mostly CS. The DDP is only worth it for people who eat TS every day especially since they got rid of tips and apps. being included. Go to allears.net and check out the menus of the places you would eat and the likely things you would chose. Then do the math.

As a matter of general policy, no, you can't trade credit types on the dining plans.

There is a specific exception: during the "free dining" period, because TS locations have limited capacity, they will allow a TS credit to be used for CS, and throw in some kind of bonus (varies, can be extra snacks, bags, lanyards, etc.).

There may be locations where you can get multiple snacks for a CS credit; this will vary by location and CM, so don't count on it.

Your resort front desk may -- repeat may -- be willing to convert TS credits to CS and/or CS to snack, but don't expect anything other than a straight 1-for-1 conversion.
