Hey all, how you doing? Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Well, me and mummy and cousin are off on the 10th of May for 4 (not been for 4 nights in ages, ooh the luxury!) nights/5days at the Santa Fe, and I want to write up my first trip report!

Luckily, I have a great new Fuji camera so I'll be able to take loads of pictures, but I just wondered how all of you made trippies - do you take notes, write it up once you get back to the hotel? I have trouble remembering what happens on specific days!

Anyhoo, any tips would be much appreciated :goodvibes

Hi! :)
I took a note book with me and wrote notes in the hotel each night about what we'd done and how long queue's had been etc.
I also had a notebook in my bag and when we'd found Wed hard to remember I did do v quick notes to help during the day on Thu and Fri and then added to them in the evening.

So between the notes, the over 1000 photos I took :rolleyes1 and writing under the autographs in my daughters book where we were for each one, I've got plenty of info on top of my memories to write from. I think otherwise I'd be struggling to do a day by day TR. :rotfl2:

When I went to WDW, I made notes on a park map. Just a couple of words and a number next to the rides I did, so that I could keep track of when I did what. Also, taking lots of pictures helps.
However, make sure you don't loose your park maps, I am still looking for my WDW-ones...

I once tried to take notes in a notebook, but that didn't work for me. The park map can be folded and put in the back pocket of my jeans, so it's always near my hand to grab and write some words down while waiting in line. The notebook, I always had to put it in the backpack, take it out, ...

To do dining reports, it helps to keep the bill and take pictures of the plates. Aaahhh, nothing as funa s watching disney-food pictures while dreaming of your next vacation (and being on a diet, bwahaha!)
Btw, I took pictures of my food at the fancy restaurants, and the CMs didn't even blink an eye because of my behaviour ;)

I found last time just by having the date on our photos and viewing them in order helped me to remember the days. The one thing I never remember to do is take photos of our meals - will try harder next time.:)

Jill that is exactly what I done too!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I just looked at my pictures and I had my trip report.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Just make sure yo uhave the correct date...and year on it !! A friend of mine went to WDW and tokk tons of photos, and her date was all wrong. She only realized it when she downloaded them. It sounds silly, but it's true. Also, don't forget to take an extra battery as well as the battey charger. I had the extra charged battery with me, that way I was able to take as many photos without being afraid I would loose that "kodak moment "!:)

I also took a photo each morning and each evening....of my girls in the hotel as well as all the possible signs, characters..etc.

Or.......... if you have a terrible memory and cant even remember to make the notes (like me) :rolleyes1 then do a live trippie each night.

Most of the hotels have internet access and you can catch up on other DIS post and enjoy a coffee while your at it :surfweb:

All the detail is still fresh in your mind and you dont have to do it when you come home exhausted from your fabulous trip :goodvibes

I like to write mine up each night in a notebook, even then I forget some things. I've heard of people taking a small notebook with them and writing up notes whilst queuing for rides, but that's a bit too efficient for me.

I fill out a notebook each evening while relaxing with a drink at the end of the evening :goodvibes

DP has threatened to disown me if I photograph our food. But I always enjoy trip reports with food in them :)

Great tips guys, I like Cyrano's idea, pretty much because it gives me an excuse to relax for 20 minutes with a cocktail! I'm so excited, I've not been since last September, 9 months!! Just means we'll appreciate it all the more :)

I've never done a trip report on here, but one way I kept a diary last time I was in Florida was to buy a postcard of whichever park I visited that day, and the write on the back of it (you might need several if you've got a lot to write though!). It's a really nice way of keeping your memories and an excuse to buy postcards!
