Tips For Off-Site Booking

Damn, couldn't see that! Oh well, we'll be fine as long as Lucas doesn't fall on us in the middle of he night! I'll get you guys on the case to find my hotel next time :D

Blimey, 42 sleeps too go - that's the smallest starting countdown for a family trip yet!

It's been all change!

I read a review about the bunk bed that sits above the double bed and apparently there is a cation tag on it saying not for children under 6. Well Lucas is a small 4 year old, will be 5th on the 6th May. hence this trip - late pressie! Anyway, I contacted Booking.com and they did some investigation and are letting me cancel my no cancellation booking for free. They said that information should have been there at the time of booking so hopefully it will be now on for other people. They were very helpful and did all this on a Sunday.

Anyway, now booked into Serris Sejours Aparts and receiving helpful tips (and a map!!) from stargatebarbie, who along with DLPdaft have made this transition ot off site a lot less stressful!

That was a lucky spot.
Great that you got booked and had it all sorted out. If it was me I would be a nervous wreck and probably wouldn't have gotten a decent sleep during the holiday.

I hope ye have a great trip and I hope Lucas has a great birthday :)

Stargate also gave me a map and slew of information that will help us with our trip. This board is so good for gathering good information to help have a good holiday to DLP.

Im thinking it may be best if i come with you all on your trips as tour guide barbie :rotfl2::rotfl2:also cant wait for all my commission from the apartments :thumbsup2:lmao:

Our Annual Passports arrived today - thanks so much Lynette. Now they have arrived I can pay the balance of the hotel and look at a new camera, maybe!

Now I just need to shop on Amazon for GB sticker, light sticker thingies, breathalyser, bulb kit, high vis vest and triangle!

Just 10 days still we can tell Lucas too - can't hold it in much longer!

great news ,hope the passport office is not to busy on the day you get there we had two very different experiences ist time over a hour or more in queue (we arrived sat tea time) 2nd time in and out within less than 10 mins this was a tues before lunch , oh yes you need a fair few things for the car these days cant imagine how this would go down in the uk ,not long now keep the excitement in

We haven't told the kids and won't till we are there......told Eowyn about the Halloween booking to throw her off the scent as we want all the kids together at the shack before we see if they guessed it LOL! She won't be expecting it that way!

We have booked an offsite hotel for October and December (OMG Christmas at Disney) for a teeny amount compared too onsite - driving over is way cheaper! Did look at catering but decided those two trips we'd like as much time as possible in the parks so will eat there instead. Which means I finally get to plan and budget for meals as I'm not allowed to in May haha!!

I'd like to wait until we go but it's a birthday surprise for him so we want to tell him on his birthday - not sure I'd be able to hold out another 3 weeks after that!

It's been too long since we were there at Christmas - 2005 in fact! It is pretty surreal being in Disneyland Park on Christmas Day, or is it? No, I'm not sure I remember, hmmm, better book to go back again :D

Fab birthday present! I've been NYE and it was chaos....but I am so looking forward to Christmas Eve/Day/Boxing Day in the park. No Christmas presents this year though....but I reckon Johnny's already topped last years of my galaxy tab! Offsite/AP's, how ever did I cope with onsite??! :-)
And I think you need to refresh your memory ;-)

Wish I could convince DW to stay off site for one of our trips.

She'll come around - I did. Only took 10 years though!!

But waking up at Disney is the best Christmas present of all ..... it's priceless. :cloud9:

You must try and persuade her to try it at least the once. We did it the other way round ..... after several years of being offsite with APs we've had two trips onsite. Whilst it's an obvious advantage being closer to the parks that's about the only one that I think there really is ..... and I so missed the better AP discount for shopping and counter service, such a shame they don't give the latter to shareholders. I don't feel there's any less magic to the holiday staying offsite than on and wouldn't hesitate to stay offsite again if Disney couldn't give me a price I was happy with.

You can definitely do it on the cheap ... we have just booked for 4 nights plus flights for £175 per person. ( we do have AP already ) Actually cheaper than going to London on the train for a weekend !! Staying at the Sejours et Affaires appt in Val de Europe and booked through Hotels.com - £49 per night. Love this area as so easy to stock up on breakfast and snacks from the Auchan Supermarket. :cool1::cool1:
