Tips for Mom & DD(12) alone for 1st time

Going 1st week of Feb. for DD 12th birthday. Any tips for 2 females alone.
Should I give a card with all emergency info when I check in? I want to prepare DD for any problems without freaking her out.

I have been many times with just DD12 and myself. I find that those are very relaxing trips because you only have the two of yourselves to please. She has a cell phone now but has always known how to access all our emergency information and who to call just in case. We have been traveling by ourselves since she was 7. Next up, just the 2 of us in March on the new Disney Dream.

I have gone alone with DD, now 14 yrs.old for the last 3 trips. the first time she was only 9 yrs. old ,next trip 11 yrs old and this past Aug., she was 14. She also has her own cell phone ,now,so that made things easier for "my piece of mind."
I wrote out important info on to an index card and laminated it. Included home address, dad's cell phone # and other In Case of Emergency contact #'s back home, our hotel and room #,my cell phone # etc.and my relatives in Florida name and # (just in case). I made sure she had them on her at all times in a fanny pack or small backpack.
My biggest fear was that something would happen to me and she'd be all alone down in Florida.
With dd having her own cell phone , even if we did get seperated in the parks , she could give me a quick call and we'd meet up in a minute. Thankfully that never happened !:thumbsup
We've had the BEST times just her and I ...on our own schedule with no one else to please or worry about !
