Calling all experts.......
We are taking my grandmother for her 79th birthday mid May. She's never been before - I can't wait!! Anyway, there are 13 going, 5 kids from 6 - 12. Most of us have been before, though for my parents it's been 20 years. We also have a range of interests and abilities. Some will need an afternoon break back at the hotel, some won't; some will want to ride everything, some only the "mellow" rides.
I've been tasked with planning the whole thing, and I was wondering if anyone had some tips for travel w/groups. Are itinerary's a good idea? If so how detailed (i.e as detailed as 10 Peter Pan, 10:30 Matterhorn, etc. OR as loose as lunch @ 1, Blue Bayou; dinner @ 7, Zocalo). Some things we are planning are inflexible, like the Gospel Brunch @ HOB and Fantasmic, but the rest of the time is wide open. I don't think we all need to be together every moment, but I would like this to be very much a "family trip".
Also, I'd appreciate opinions on the tours. I've been to DLR a lot, read a lot, and ghost boards like these a lot, so I'm considered the resident expert (ha!) and the tours appear extravagant to the rest of the family. I know enough to know how much I don't know, so I'm wondering if they might be a good idea. A show of hands, please!! If yes, which one would be "the" one?
Thanks!!
