Anyone know how you get picked for Jedi training at Star Wars Weekend. We will only have one shot on a Friday as we leave Saturday. he's 5 and a real fan!! Thanks in advance.

He needs to be close to the front or on someone's shoulders and really WANT to and show it. There are many different trainings scheduled (almost back to back all day) and we saw several in a row. My 4 year old was fascinated but didn't want to be picked. I think that almost every child that wanted to be picked got up there if not the first time then the second on Friday. There was much more comp. on Sunday when we went back, so I bet he wont have trouble at all!

(does he know he will get to fight a bad guy? I am not sure if its the same ones every year but last year, after the training, Darth Maul and Darth Vader came out and each fought 1/2 the trainees so everyone got a shot at one or the other. They didnt get to choose, those on the stage got one, those in front of the stage got the other.)

Where does this happen? We went to Star Wars weekends last year and the year before that but DS was too young for something like this. Now he'd love it, we'll be there the Sunday of the first weekend and the second weekend.

There is a stage set up between the backlot restaurant and Star Tours. It happens there like every hour and fifteen minutes. It is on the white sheet that they had out with the times for all the shows on it, so you can find out what time there.

DD did it twice last year. The 1st time we got there in the blazing sun way ahead of time so she could be up close. The 2nd time, she had on her Princess Leia costume and she was picked right away. The kids have to enthusiastic and look like the REALLY want to do it.

Thanks everyone - looking enthusiastic shouldn't be a problem - although waht he says now and his actions when we get there may be 2 different things! - ...fighting the 'bad guy' is why he wants to do it :)

We went in June and our ds (9) was picked. It was the highlight of our visit! I agree that you have to get in front and look enthusiastic! They select MANY children (at least 20), so if you don't get selected for the first show, come back again. The shows are about an hour apart. Ds wasn't selected for the first show, so we went to see the Muppet show, came back, and he was picked for the next show. If your son is a Star Wars fan, it's well worth it. They give the children an action figure and a Jedi training diploma when they're finished.

The "host" of the show did a great job. They had a couple boys who started to cry when Darth Vader approached them and he handled it very well.
