Tips for getting around the world in a car

We usually rely on disney transprotation and are going to be using a rental car for the first time. Can anyone give me tips, such as parking etc. We will be going to F W campgrounds, dtd, and all the parks. How much to park everywhere? Any other pointers would be appreciated.

There really isn't much to know. You just follow the signs to get to where you want to go. You might want to just look at a map of the property for a minute or so just to familiarize yourself with the layout. But the signs are pretty good.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, parking if free in at the theme parks. There is no charge to park at any of the hotels, unless you chose to use valet parking.

If you are staying at one of the resorts, it won't cost you anything to park. If you're staying off-site, it will cost you $10 to park at each of the 4 major parks - once you pay, though, you can use that day's receipt to park at any of the other parks. All the other places will be free. I believe there is a time limit at the resorts and at the Boardwalk (3 or so hours?).

We found it VERY easy to navigate around, the roads are very well signed, and nothing is really all that far from anything else. I don't think I can ever bring myself to go without a rental car again. We do also use the bus transportation at times, but it's so much more convenient.

Make sure you remember to get the parking pass at your resort when you check in, and just this one tip about that - be VERY careful when driving around with the windows down. We almost lost ours a few times. Either stow it someplace else while in transit, or bring a small roll of scotch tape along to give it a little help staying in the windshield.
