Does any one have any tips for a family of five on a budget for staying on-site? I have stayed in the Poly before in a regular garden view room - but that can get expensive for a weeks stay, and since all the inexpensive resorts can only hold 4 they are out. Any help would be appreciated.

HI! I stayed at DxL, which is now Port Orleans Riverside, in 1999 with five people. They have rooms to hold five people.

Check out these informational pages:

I would also make a budget for your meals. Plan to eat breakfast at the hotel, for example. bring pop tarts, coffee cakes, etc. with you to WDW. Also plan on bringing snacks like Hunts Pudding (it doesn't need to be in the refrige!), granola bars, etc. Then plan one large meal each day, perhaps at a buffet.

Hope this Helps!

Ever consider the cabins at Ft. Wilderness? A lot of people I think dismiss them thinking they would be roughing it, but they're fantastic!! They have a full kitchen, maid service, tv. and vcr, and sleep six. We always stay there and love it. We save by eating every breakfast in and pack our own lunches and even eat 1 or 2 dinners at the cabin also. I don't know when your trip is, but I know they've got a good deal ($134 night) in the fall. Have fun!
