Anyone have any good tips for driving into Disney off of 1-75?

Any better routes? Less congested?

I usually take the Florida Turnpike then get off at the Clermont exit. I then take US 27S to US 192E to World Drive.

However, there should be a new toll road that has access off of the Florida Turnpike straight onto Disney property that bypasses both I-4 and US 27.

That's 429 and not open all the way yet.

Some advice from a local. Take I-75 to the FL Turnpike. Get off exit 288 and proceed south on Route 27. This will take you on a scenic route through Clermont. Not to worry, it's a 4 lane divided highway with for the most part a 65 mph/105 kph speed limit. There's very little traffic, and although there are some lights, there aren't many. You'll pass a couple Publix grocery stores, stop for bottled water and snacks. They have good selection and prices, and aren't crowded with tourists.

Just south of Route 50 watch your speed, the cops love to sit in a couple of parking lots in the area with radar in the reduced speed zone.

You'll take Route 27 South for about 30 miles, the exit ramp for Route 192 is clearly marked with not only the route name, but it also says "Disney World". be cautious on the ramp, it's a harder turn than it would appear.

Follow 192 east for about 5 miles, a bit after mile marker 5 (Big purple "5" sign on lightpole) you'll be making a left turn onto Sherbeth. Follow Sherbeth to the traffic light and make a laft if you are headed to AKL, right to go anywhere else on property.

Timewise it will save you during rush hour, it's about the same otherwise, but it will save a couple dollars in tolls and keep you off of I-4, which is terrible any time of the day or night.

Thanks much!!

Exactly the type of help I was hoping to get!! :Pinkbounc

Thanks again ducklite and clkelley.

I followed your directions on Google maps and figured it out all the way to POR!!

Speaking of 429 - Do you know when that project is supposed to be finished?

Late spring I think. I'm looking forward to it--my office is literally right next to the 429--my window looks out onto it, and I watch the stupid driver tricks while I'm on the phone. :earboy2:

I often head down to WDW after the day job for concerts at HoB, and right now there's just no good way to get from here to there. If I could take the 429 the whole way it would take me under 20 minutes to get there.

Thank you so much for the tips! I was just about to make a new post asking exactly this. We're leaving Dallas at 3:00 PM Friday and driving straight through. I don't mind toll roads, but it's good to know that I should stay off of I-4.
