Tips for Coco Beach/ Space Coast week trip in June?

We have a week at a condo in 2nd week in June on Coca Beach. Have never been there before and would love some tips/suggestions. Places to eat, shop, must do/see, etc. Is there a better day/time to go to Kennedy Space Center?

Also, what kind of sand is on the beaches there? I've only been to the Gulf side of FL. Will we need to watch out for jellyfish and sharks in June?

It's been a long time since we stayed in Cocoa Beach. We had a great vacation there 5 years ago. We went in the middle of June and we practically had the beach to ourselves. We really enjoyed it. We ate at a place in Titusville called Dixie Crossroads. I'd highly recommend a meal at this restaurant. You can check them out at www.dixiecrossroads.com. I can't really remember much else. We loved visiting the space center.

Don't miss a shopping trip to the giant Ron Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach. You can also drive over to Cocoa Village for some shopping and eating. Murdoch's is a good casual bar atmosphere for something for lunch.

There's a zoo in Melbourne - actually Viera (probably 20 mins max from CB) - the Brevard Zoo. It's small, but nice. More shopping in Viera as well - there's a open-air mall there with lots of the usual mall suspects - Old Navy, Coldwater Creek, Melting Pot, that type of thing.

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is supposed to be great as well, but I haven't been there.

I second the Dixie Crossroads recommendation.
