We are doing Cinderella's Royal Table one night and was wondering about a few things. Does anyone have any tips on dressing their daughter up for the dinner? We are trying to figure out how to bring the princess dress with us to dinner. Is it better to go back to the room before the dinner or keep it in a locker? (We are staying on location.) Do you let them walk around all day in the dress? We are also thinking of letting her wear a Jasmine outfit since the Jasmine dresses aren't so big and fluffy. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what your plans are before dinner, but it isn't at all unusual to see little princess in costume all day long.

DD3 wore most of her costumes all day. You may want to bring "princess" shoes to change into and a brush/hairspray to "fix" a styled hair. Or bring the costume and let you princess change in the ladies room/family room before going for dinner. I see no need to go back to the room...unless you want a break anyway.

We are going for breakfast, and I was concerned about having to carry the dress around all day afterwards, but my neighbor told me that after breakfast, her daughter just wore it the rest of the day. So,that's my plan (we will take a break after lunch anyway), but if necesary, I like the locker idea better then me getting stuck carrying it!

Just remember that sometimes those costumes are itchy! My DD wore her Belle dress when we had returned to the park in the pm, and after a few hours she was complaining that it was itching her. Luckily, we weren't there for much longer, and she made it, but had it been an all day thing, I bet we would have ended up buying her new clothes to wear.

I don't have a little girl but some ideas I found on the DIS and passed onto my cousin (who does have a DD)

instead of the plastic shoes--white sneakers either dyed or painted with fabric paint to match the costume. (more comfort for the child)

plain t-shirt to put on under the dress after pictures

wear shorts under the dress (quicker to change in & out of and they don't show in pictures)

if you have a stroller then just pack an empty large ziploc type bag to put the clothes and accessories into when done the meal )you can squeeze out the air and pack it tightly). Or else--get a locker. The baby care centers are great for changing and near the front of the MK park (which is also where the lockers are). (I'm personally not a huge fan of the bathroom changing as it's hard to keep clothes and barefeet from touching that icky floor while doing a change)

sunscreen---if you are changing into a dress and not starting the day in it, remember to sunscreen parts that may not have been exposed when you first put sunscreen on. Especailly if there is any indication that your child may not want to change out of the dress after the meal and will want to wear out it out in the sun for a little while.

the sleeves on the bell dress are very itchy..i plan on letting my DD were it to CRT in three weeks for breakfast, but after that i will most likely change her into a pair of jeans and a tshirt so i dont have to hear her complaning. my dd5 still can cry like a newborn fresh out of a the womb. its amazing the lungs on this kid

Thanks everyone for the ideas so far. I know the dress we have is itchy and especially will be if it is a warm day.

If it were me - I would just stuff the dress into a bag that I am carrying. A locker would be another option if you thought you were carrying around too much stuff. Then just dress her before the dinner. When my girls wear their princess dresses to the parks - they usually just wear them over top of their regular clothes (mainly for the itchy factor).

I definitely insist on my girls wearing comfy tennis shoes with their princess dresses in the parks - nothing ruins a day like sore feet from fancy shoes.

I put a space saver travel bag in the back pack. When DD changed out of her Ariel Wedding dress (rather fluffy) we put it in there...it saved room and knew we wouldn't have to worry if the bag got wet.
