Tips for checking in at OKW and making rope drop at MK

We are staying at a hotel near DTD the night before. What would be the best way to check into OKW and make rope drop at MK. Should we drive over to OKW and check in first or just put our luggage in the van and park at TTC and check in later? What time would all of this need to happen with a 9am opening?

I would never recommend leaving luggage and valuables in a parked car, even at WDW.

You can check into your resort early in the morning (say around 7:30), get your KTTW cards, check your luggage with Bell Services if your room isn't ready, and grab the next bus to MK.

We are doing the exact same thing next week. Staying in an offsite hotel on Sunday because we are driving all day and arriving late. On Monday morning, we are leaving our temp hotel and heading to OKW around 6:30am. We need to check in there to get our KTTW card so that we can go to AK for EMH-AM on that morning. We are not expecting our room to be ready, but really just need the keys for EMH. It's three guys so our luggage is very minimum and we'll leave it in the trunk. Hope you have a great, smooth trip!

In the heat of summer, things like deodorant (assuming it's solid) would probably melt in the car. Since you're going to be going into the hotel to check in anyway, I'd take the luggage in with you and leave it with Bell Services. To save time, one can check in while the others go to Bell Services.

I would go to your resort and check-in. If you do online check-in, your room might even be ready, if not, you can leave your items with bell services. I'd be at the resort at 7 am. Much safer than leaving things in the car--for both theft and heat damage.

I'm pretty sure that you can check in at any resort 24 hours a day (lots of people drive in and arrive in the middle of the night). Get there as early as you think you need to to arrive at MK for RD.

Having said that, I'm not as cautious (paranoid?) as other posters about leaving luggage in the trunk of a parked car. That's what locks are for. I would just do that.

At Disney, the hotels turn over to the current day at 6:00 am, so arriving before then wouldn't work. And I've had something stolen from the trunk of my locked car (not at Disney), so it's not outside the realm of possibility. I will say though that I might be willing to leave luggage in the trunk in cooler weather, but not in Florida summer weather.

I didn't know that.

But still, OP could drop off bags at OKW and wait until later to check-in. I'll bet they would give OP a parking pass even if she wasn't checked in.

We're doing the same thing at AKL in July, driving up from Naples SUPER early, checking in and leaving our stuff at Luggage Services if our room isn't ready, then hopping a bus to MK for RD. I would worry too about the toiletries in the heat. Have fun!!!!

Check in at OKW and they might tell you the vicinity of your villa if it is not ready yet. Park your car in that area and grab a bus from that bus stop. I've never had any problem with my parked car at OKW.

That is a good idea and time saver. We could try to park in the shade somewhere at OKW and then check in after we leave the MK. I think we plan to do online check-in anyway so should be quick once we return for the day. Awesome, thanks!
