Hi everyone! Have noticed there is aot of first time cruisers on the boards, we have been on 3 Disney cruises out of PC and have some tips to share!
1. hit the pool deck soon after boarding, swim, ride the aquaduck
this area can get very busy at times during the cruise, we bring
our swim suits in our carryon. There is food at the buffet and
poolside.
2. Order room service for breakfast one day, great for a day when
you are going into port, we brought baggies from home and
packed some leftover bagels and such to bring with us.
3. room service has some great snacks available as well.
The wings on the Dream are great!
4. On the last night of the cruise you will be directed to
place all of your luggage outside of your room, you do not
have to, we kept one bag back, of course this means you have
bring it off yourself.
5. On the last am of the cruise you will directed to bring any
remaining luggage with you as you attend breakfast and
then leave the ship. You can skip this as there is a buffet open
near the pools. This can give you some more time to get ready.
6. When you leave the ship there will be a separate line for non US
passengers which will be shorter!

I think this is one of the more important tips: No rushing to get to the 6:45 breakfast! Wish we knew about this on our first cruise.

My tip would be not to overpack. Definitely don't need to pack for a cruise like you do for WDW. Laundry is inexpensive and easy to do.

Also, at check in, when you get to the podium where they redirect you to the line, there is also a non-US line and it's also shorter. We found it to be even shorter than the CC line.

Another suggestion is that for Dream (or soon to be Fantasy) cruisers, if you want to ride the Aquaduck with very little wait, try going during the show times. We found that after seeing them once on our first part of the b2b cruise, we didn't need to see them again for the second part. We rode the Aquaduck about 15 times per night without any lines. And it's just as fun at night!:thumbsup2

Also, since we don't like the buffets, we took the time to eat our breakfast and lunches at the table service restaurants....it was great. There were very few people in the restaurant so it was quiet and relaxing. If you'd like to do this just check your Navigator to see which restaurant is serving the non-buffet meals for breakfast and/or lunch.

That's a great tip about the lunches, we'll def try that when we sail in October :)

We always bring something "Canadian" for our room Steward. Lately it has been maple fudge or maple sugar candies. Also, order uncrustables from room service. they are sealed and a very good snack when in ports.
We always order a small breakfest from room service and have it delivered at 730 am every morning. That is our alarm clock.

A tip about room service, sometimes (most of the time on our last cruise) there was a long wait of at least 30 mins if not 45mins to get our order. So if you think you "might" want something, order it right then, because by the time it gets there you will be ready for it, lol.

in the desk there is a card to fill out for room service. You can have coffee and stuff delivered to your stateroom at a specific time. We fill it out before we go to bed, place it outon the door handle, and then we get a call around 730 am to let us know that breaky is on its way.
Another tip, you can set a wake up call for a specific time and Mickey will call to wake you up!!

Here is one of our favorites.....
Before the cruise, purchase some white pillow cases and some multi colored Sharpies or fabric markers. But them in a zip lock bag and drop them off at Guest Services on the first or second day of your cruise. You can get the characters to autograph the pillow cases and your room steward will return them to your stateroom by the last evening of the cruise. You can do t shirts or picture frams as well. But usually no more then four items per stateroom.
Its a cool free keep sake!!!

If you do breakfast/lunch in the full-service restaurants, do they seat you with other people or can you get your own table?

Thanks for the tips! :thumbsup2

When you find colored glow sticks on sale, pick them up! They are great for the Pirate Party!! Plus, they work well as a night light in the cabins, especially the inside cabins. Even when we cruise without our kids, who are 19, 21, 21 & 23, we take the glow sticks and necklaces to the pirate party. We hand them out to kids that are standing near us. With their parents permission of course.
