Tips for booking Sept/Oct 2010

We are wanting to book or at least plan to book our holiday back to wdw in Sept/Oct 2010

We have decided that we want to stay on the resort again, preferably at one of the hotels nearer to a golf course but thats not essential.

Does any-one have any tips on when or where the best time is to book for anything from discounts to even free DDP???

I know it is a while off yet, but I don't want to miss any good offers there are to be had

Hi, I'm looking into a Sept/Oct 2010 trip too.

I'm hoping to get the free DDP deal- last year the bookings must have been made between 20 Aug and 4 Nov 2008 (extended to 2nd Dec),that was for stays between 2nd Aug – October 3rd, 2009... So hopefully they will have a similar offer this year for 2010...

Don't automatically book flights the minute they are released, if they are above £400, hang fire and keep checking, last year they came down to £318 in November for the end of this August.
Flydrives sometimes work out cheaper than flight only and you have the advantage of only paying a deposit.
I will be wanting at least a 1 bedroom villa at OKW for September 2010 but if they don't do the free dining offer then it may be too expensive and we'll go for a condo in LBV.
If you join Virgin flying club you ger emails of all the sales and special offers - a lot of people swear by booking on xmas day but our flights were slightly more expensive, I used miles and money but if I'd waited another 2 weeks till the end of November, I could have got them for the same price and hung onto our miles.

I already am in planning for Sep26-Oct10 2010 at POR. I am wanting to travel on Virgin Premium Economy. Im not really bothered about free dining (infact Im kinda hoping to miss it due to increased crowds at resturants). Does anybody know what time of day in UK TIME when the ADR offices open?

It's usually around lunch time. They are five hours behind us so if you have the US opening times then just add five for the uk opening time. I rang as soon as they opened and didn't have to queue once on the phone thankfully. Can't remember exact times as it was back in April/May.

Both virgin holidays and Disney Travel have released the first 8 (Disney) hotels for holidays upto Oct 2010 and at present they do have free dining and appear to be the same price as this years.

We booked at around about this time last year for this years trip and recieved a lot of discounts for booking early.

Free dining is already available on Disney's own UK site - think it's up until 17th November 2010, for all resorts aside from the value resorts. But if you choose a moderate resort, it includes counter service dining and you need to pay £5 extra per person per day if you want the basic dining plan.

None of the rooms are discounted though - and I think it is worth waiting to see what additional discounts they offer. This year they're offering discounts at OKW and Saratoga, plus free dining. Both those resorts are v handy for golf, so you might want to wait and see if they offer the same deal next year.

Also - keep an eye on the exchange rate - the dollar to pound is creeping up again and if it gets a bit higher, it might be better value to book through Disney US again.

As others have said, don't book your flights too far ahead unless you see an amazing deal. Because you are planning so far ahead, you could keep checking the same dates for this year, to see when the best deals are likely to come out.

I have almost always got the best deal on flights at three months out but I keep checking, incase I miss out on a great offer.

We were looking at OKW specifically for the golf so i might hang on a little while and cross my fingers that they do the same for next year.
