I'm going to try this solo on Mother's Day May 14. Anyone have tips they found helpful?

Staying offsite so no EMH and I will have visited many times earlier in the week but with kids right at 38" so no mountains prior to this. I will do rider swap for Soarin earlier in the week but it's my favorite so I"ll do it again.

I'm assuming you're just doing a day visit so EMH, etc., doesn't apply?

Eat a big breakfast ;) ;) ;)

No, but seriously it can be done if you have the drive and stamina.
-Definitely helps if its a lower crowd day in the parks.
-Check the park hours and make a plan for the order of your visits.
-It's going to be a Rope Drop to Park Close kind of day if you want to hit all/most of your favorites.
-Remember to eat and hydrate (frequently and lightly)
-Have a rough plan as to what you want to accomplish but don't beat yourself up if things go sideways. Make the most of it and move on with the adventure.
-Most important HAVE FUN!

It really depends on what you want to do. I typically do 3 or 4 parks when I am solo so it is not much different than any other day for me. On a normal solo trip, I only plan part of my day and then do as I want the other half.

I would figure out any specifics of must do attractions, shows, food, etc... Then you can plan a bit better.

I have not been solo since FP+ was implemented, but it would not change much of how I do the parks. I would likely plan out my first two parks using Rope Drop at the first park and then FP+ at the second park. Then, I would go as I feel to the last two parks of the day. I might base it on a FP+ that I could get at park #3 as I was leaving park #2.

I will say that I enjoyed using the Express Bus for park hopping on my trip earlier this year, but I do not know if I would use it for one day's cost. Also, if you have a car, that can change up some of your trip. If I have a car, I do tend to drive to each park, including TTC, but that is because I love taking the boat across to MK.

It depends on what kind of "4 park challenge" your setting for yourself, of are you just doing all the parks in one day for fun kinda thing? I believe one version of the challenge is to ride a ride, watch a show/attraction show, meet a character & eat something in each park? Sure...
We usually take the last day of our trip to park hop between all 4 and do our favorite attractions again. This has actually gotten EASIER with the fp+
-Make fp's for DHS
-Rope drop DAK, straight to EE, Safari, watch Lion King, maybe meet a character
-Bus to DHS
-Use fast passes for ToT, BatB,and something else Single rider RnR if wanted, pop through Launch Bay for a character meet
-Boat to Epcot (or to the Boardwalk and walk the rest of the way cause it's faster) do the same style of day. You could also try to get a 4th fast pass here for something that's within the next couple of hours. Usually when we do 4parks we end up skipping Epcot
-Monorail to MK
-Check what's available for fast passes, book something if you can
-Spend the rest of the day til close there.

We stuck with that order as it makes sense transportation wise, you can obviously do it any other way, and the express busses might come in handy too as they'll cut down on transportation/bag check and such.
-Figure out in advance what EXACTLY is a MUST accomplish for you, and figure out what is going to be the most important things to do fp's for! If you dont have that much you want to do in DHS, then save the fp's for the MK mountains
-ROPE DROP IS CRUCIAL
-Bring snacks with you, and maybe even a transportable breakfast to eat on the way to the parks/while waiting for opening

Decide what nighttime show you want to see. If it isn't at Epcot, I would rope drop there (takes care of Soarin'). Unless you are trying to get 7DMT (may be too late at this point), make FP+ for your 2nd park. I would make MK 3rd or 4th park since there will be the most remaining FP+ later in the day.

is there a place to read the rules for this. Or can we make it our own rules? I saw one person say mission space was a must do on the 4 park Challenge, but my family will not do it. We each have our reasons but it is one big one we have all said no to.

There's not really a "thing" for there to be rules. You set your own... with the only real "rule" that you visit all four park. We've done this on our last full day more than once... usually to "pick up" things we missed earlier in the week.

I like the plan above.

Have fun!

I've done four parks, 1 day a couple times and kind of followed different agendas both times. On the first time, we met Mickey in every park, rode a few rides, walked WS, watched Wishes, and had dinner in Epcot.

The second time, I focused on MK. I spent the morning there and rode a few rides, then met a bunch of characters, then headed to all the other parks, meeting characters in each one
and ending up with doing F&W at Epcot. Both days were super busy and crazy but so much fun!

make your own rules. My family rules for 4 park days: eat and drink something in every park, do at least one ride or show in every park, get a photo with the 'icon' of the park (for us: in front of Spaceship Earth, in front of either the GMR or TOT, in front of the castle and in front of the tree of life).

I agree with pitpat.
Use the express bus transportation for the day.
You can purchase it at the first park you go to in the morning.
It will get you transfered between parks faster and you will skip bag checks and tapstiles thus saving alot of time.

Definitely utilize the express transportation. We used it during our December trip and found ourselves going to 3-4 parks per day without even thinking about it...you just can't beat the convenience!

I did all 4 parks last November and had a great time. RD Hollywood. Rode Toy Story, rock N roller coaster and ToT then hit Epcot where I rode soarin standby. Single rider TT and mission space. Grabbed a beer and pretzel from Germany and rode spaceship earth on the way out. Next was a quick visit to animal kingdom late afternoonish. Barely any crowds. Rode Everest, Khali and Safari and ended the day at MK with fast passes for space, splash and 7DMT. Watched wishes to cap off a great day. Have fun!
