If you were going to be alone in the city for some business meetings, and you were interested in a little shopping, a little strolling around, and you were going to a concert at the Air Canada Centre one of the nights, where would you stay (specific hotel if you have a recommendation, or general area)? Where are good strolling areas for women alone? I have been to Toronto several times, and I know my way around the subway system - but I'm not as familiar with all the neighborhoods.
After my concert (it will be about 11.30 p.m. then) I won't want to go straight to bed, I will be so wired! What can I do?
It's been a few years, and I've lost touch with how safe/unsafe certain areas might be. I'd appreciate any advice you guys can give me, and any ideas of things you like to do when you're alone in the city, and what you consider safe to do at night!
Is it just me, or are the good downtown hotels expensive?!
