Can anyone help me.
Going to orlando, room only for three weeks, travelling this Saturday from the UK.
2 adults & 2 boys (16 & 5)
Don't know how much to take with us. Can u help?
Have purchased all park tickets, have a car, only tickets to buy are for Kennedy Space Centre.
Can anyone give us some idea as its our 1st time and we don't want to run out of money.
Any tips and what not to miss info would be welcome also
Thanks
(Think this forums great by the way and ideas posted are really opening up a new world for me)

Hi LadyT, I'm leaving tomorrow morning. I would suggest laundry tablets, so you can do some wash at some point on your trip (three weeks worth of clothes is too much to carry). I've done an envelope system where I put the max. I want to spend per day in the days envelope. Anything left over after that day is "bonus money". Are you staying on-site?

I plan on at least $100 a day for food/souveniers at a minimum. I am planning on a bit more for our trip in September since both of my children are teenagers and don't eat the children's menu anymore. This assumes most days at the park though, would probably be less if going to the beach or other activities.

Read, read, and then read. Visit this forum as much as possible. If you don't have a guide book, I would recommend you get a good unofficial guide. You don't have a lot of time to read it before your trip, but you could study it on the trip to Orlando. I like to open mine at night after we've arrived in Orlando. I review the park, restaurants, etc. that we plan to visit on the next day. Our first visit was a cinch because I had researched so much. One of the big helps was that I had reviewed the park layouts enough that I had a general idea of where the main attractions were inside the parks. A guide book would contain park maps, or you could print one from one of the WDW related websites.

I personally do not think 5 years old is too old for a stroller at WDW. If you have one to bring, or rent at the parks, your little one could keep up the pace that the big people set. However, my guess is that he likes to try to keep up with big brother, and would be insulted by the suggestion of a stroller.

The biggest thing to remember is to have big fun!

At WDW some of the meal portions are large enough to share--so you can often split an entree and then still have room for a yummy dessert:p Three weeks is a long time so just take your time and soak up the magic. Although just about everything at WDW is a don't miss to me-- some of my top picks are:
Illuminations
Fantasmic
Spectromagic
Fantasy in the Sky
Have fun!!

We averaged about 25.00 for a meal in any of the parks for four of us. My husband,me,son9 and daughter6. Now they both ate childrens meals and we would have a sandwich (which came with fries) The 25.00 also would have been drinks and usually a beer for my husband . I also found that we only ate one big meal a day and then had a "snack" type meal once a day such as a turkey leg to split or a few hotdogs to split (everything is huge). The kids ate breakfast in the rooms (cereal, poptarts, apple). So if you figure 100 a day for food and souveniers that should do you good. Just remember have a good time and relax.
