Hello everyone, We are a loyal CBR guest and have been for sometime. However we just got a 30' TT and would really like to experience FW. I have heard some negatives about backing in with large coaches. Can ya'll tell me if that is anything we should worry about and if there are specific sites you would recommend? Thanks

Well, I backed my 38'+ 5th wheel into a site without any problems. We go with Premium sites because they tend to be a little larger. You really don't have anything to worry about though. You will love the Fort!

The two biggest recommendations I have are: 1) Make sure to tell the reservation CM all about your RV and tow vehicle. Length, width, # of slide outs (if any), awnings, etc. Not all the sites are the same size or configuration. However the assigner can use the information put you into a site that best meets your needs. 2) PRACTICE! Since towing and backing a trailer is new to you, make sure that you try it out before you get to a campground and may have an audience or might be blocking a busy loop road. Backing up a trailer is nothing like backing up a single vehicle. One way to practice is to hook up and go to a secluded area of a shopping center and try back in between the lines from different angles. With enough practice you might get so good that you can back right in on the first try.

I'd also let FW know that you'd like a site that's easy to back into. Premium sites should be easier in general, but some of the angles off the road can make it a bit tricky.

Worst case if you can't make it into the site you're assigned, let the front desk know and they should be able to put you somewhere else.

Oh and I'll second PP above about practicing ahead of time. :thumbsup2

This is my first post on here and couldnt resist responding and letting you know how great FW is!! You are going to have such a great time at FW!!!
We went to FW 2 years ago in our 36' Fifth Wheel and had such a great time, on the way back to MN we turned around and went back to FW for another week!
I have gone to Disney World every year and stayed in one of the wonderful hotels, but FW is just a fun different experience!!!
Here are some tips:
-Dont worry about backing into your site...it could be a little nerve racking, but just take it slow and remember, you can release your stress on Big Thunder Mountain only a boat ride away.
- Dont forget your bikes. Once parked the main transportation of the resort is either bike or golf cart. If you are active you can easily get around on your bike, otherwise there are golf carts to rent but call ahead!
- Bring decorations! We went around Halloween and A LOT of people decorate their site. Ive heard people going all out for Christmas!
-Unless we are starving or running late for breakfast reservations, we rarely took the buses. We loved the relaxing boat ride to the Magic Kingdom and got all giggly each time we pulled into dock. Even if we werent spending the day at the Magic Kingdom we would ride the boat, get on the monorail to EPCOT and either stay and enjoy EPCOT or walk through to Disney Studios or board a bus from EPCOT to Animal Kingdom.
- Youve gotta go to the Hoop-de-do-revue at FW!
- The best feeling is after spending a day at the park and going back to your campsite. Because your camper is familiar and feels like home...its the strangest/best feeling to have your "house on wheels" close to Disney World!!

I'm a first timer coming in October with a 36' TT. I reserved a preferred site. Any advice or comments about fitting her in one of those sites?

You should be fine just make sure you let them know how long your trailer is. You may want to request a site on the outside ring of the loop. The angle is sometimes better and makes it easier to back your trailer in.
