I was always under the impression that when the vendor owned their own business they weren't tipped because you paid them directly.

We tipped the lady who steamed my dress, hair & make up, limo driver and the servers at the Napa room. We wanted to wait and see the photos before we tipped the photographers.

We hadn't planned enough cash and I didn't tip the caricature artist who was excellent but I could still send him something. I don't think we tipped the guitarist but maybe my husband did.

I bought my planner a gift certificate for the GF spa and mailed it a few weeks after the wedding.
