Tipping with free valet parking

We are staying at VWL next week, and want to take advantage of the free valet parking for DVC members. We are just simple, middle-class folk, so we're not sure exactly what to tip for this service. Can anyone help us?

hi: there were a fair amount of posts on tipping. we usually tip both ways-1-2 dollars for the valet taking the car from us and 2 dollars for the valet bringing the car. some people only tip when the car is brought to them.

If service is prompt, I give $2 each way. The valets at BWV were great last month, so I did give it each time. When you are ready to leave the room, you can call valet services on the phone and your car will be waiting when you get down there.

I agree - $2 each time the car is handled, whether going or coming. We had great experiences at BWV in December, and it was well worth the total spent in tips. Thinking about parking in the lot and bringing all our luggage up to the resort from the car certainly helped justify those few dollars!

We give $2 each way. Last summer the service at VWL was great. We called from our room and our car was always waiting for us, air conditioning blasting, when we got to the door.

Well it certainly is more like a vacation to let the valet handle things- but it should be clarified that there is no reason to bring luggage in from the parking lot...

Just drop off the luggage (and if you like a member of your party) at the front door, let the bellhop take it from there--then you park the car yourself.
