Tipping the housekeeper.... how much and when

We are staying 2 nights in Oct, how much do we tip the housekeeper please? Do we leave money each day or just on the last day. Thank.

Tip every day since it may be a different maid on your second day. We tip a flat $5 but $2 per person staying in the room is standard.

Thanks as we always stay in a villa, i wasnt sure. as from the UK we dont really tip as much as in USA, and I wanna do it right. do you leave $ in an enverlope by the bed?

There are 2 adults and one 4 yr old, so $5 will be ok. we arent essy and will only be sleeping in room 9 only staying as we ger FOTL) thanks again

I use one of their envelopes from their stationary and put it on the bed and write "Housekeeping". I tip a couple of bucks for turndown service the same way. $5 is good for your party.
