Tipping room service

We ordered room service twice on our last Wonder cruise. The server would not accept my tip though ? I thought it was customary to tip for room service ? At the end of the cruise I don't recall an envelope for room service, so I was thinking they'd accept the tip right at the time of food delivery ? Anyone ever have room service not accept a tip ?

They accepted our tips whenever we got room service in April 2002. We used it late at night for the kids meals, but yes, they always accepted tips. No clue as to why they didnt on your cruise. Was it just one server that you had both times?

Yes, they most certainly accept cash tips. They cannot, however, accept children...

from what I've learned here on the boards, it's usually a couple of dollars... Some people get $2 bills from the bank before they leave to use for tips.

I imagine the tip would actually depend on what you're ordering.. if you're ordering an entire meal, you should tip more, but just snacks, beverages, etc, a couple of dollars should be fine.

but as BD mentioned, give cash, keep the kids.

I can back BD up on this one.....we tried to get them to accept the noisy children in the cabin next to us......they opted for the cash instead......

It was the same server both times---he graciously turned down my tips ? Odd.......
