I can't remember...are the tips given per person or per cabin? So, when they ask for, say $150 total in tips to everyone... is that each?

Thanx.

I don't know where the $150 comes from that you are referring to ... but the recommended tip amount is per person. For example, the recommended tip for the dining room server on a 7-night cruise is appx. $26 PER PERSON ... so for a party of 4, the recommended tip for the dining room server would be $104.

HTH

Goofy is right, I actually added up all the recommended tips for the 7 night, it's roughly $75 a PERSON.

The guidelines are per person (regardless of age), based on the length of the cruise. You may want to budget more than what the guidelines suggest.

According to DCL's official website:

What about gratuities?
It is customary to give gratuities in recognition of service,
which you will most likely be treated to in abundance aboard
the ship. As a guideline, may we suggest the following:

Per Guest per cruise ... 3-Night . 4-Night . 7-Night
Dining Room Server ...... $11.00 .. $14.75 .. $25.75
Dining Room Asst. Server . $8.00 .. $10.75 .. $18.75
Dining Room Head Server .. $2.75 ... $3.75 ... $6.50
Stateroom Host/Hostess .. $10.75 .. $14.50 .. $25.25
Dining Manager ............ Your Discretion
Room Service .............. Your Discretion
Palo ...................... Gratuity included
Vista Spa & Salon ......... Your Discretion
Babysitting ............... Gratuity not expected
Shore Excursions .......... Optional; not included in shore
........................... excursion price.

For your convenience, a 15% gratuity is automatically added
to bar, beverage, wine and deck service tabs. All gratuities
can be charged to your room charge.

At the Walt Disney World® Resort, 15% is the customary
gratuity at restaurants and bars.

By the way, at Palo, we've always tipped in addition to the fee and the auto-gratuity on beverages, and I expect to do so again on our next cruise -- even though the $10 per person Palo fee officially covers the tip.

Horace,
For this, do they present you with a bill to sign off the $10 per person to your KTTW card and then you just note how much additional tip you want to leave?

I'm taking my first cruise in December.

Here's a Real World example

So if there are 3 of you on a four night cruise your tips would be:

Server________3*14.75 = 44.25
Asst. Server__3*10.75 = 32.25
Head Server___3* 3.75 = 11.25
Stateroom_____3*14.50 = 43.50
________________Total: 131.25

So here is how the tips break down PER GUEST
3 Night Cruise - $10.83 per day or $32.50 for the cruise
4 Night Cruise - $10.94 per day or $43.75 for the cruise
7 Night Cruise - $10.89 per day or $76.25 for the cruise

It looks like you are going on the August Repo, so plan on the
$10.89 per day * 14 days = $152.46 for EACH person.

So if there are 3 of you then... $457.38 will cover DCL published gratuities.

Yes. You'll get a bill at the end of your Palo meal. The bill will show $10 per person, any paid beverages (liquor, wine, beer, nonalcoholic specialty drinks, bottled water), a 15% auto-gratuity on those beverages, a blank line for an optional additional tip, and a line for you to total everything up.

In fact, you'll get a similar meal every night in your regular rotation restaurants (except, of course, without the $10 per person fee), if you've ordered any paid beverages.
