Tipping question

It's important, IMO, to insure personal service (tip?) to tip! These are people who have the power to make your vacation better! Don't you ever fear (I'm sure this NEVER happens) that housekeeping will scrub the bathroom with your toothbrush if you are mean to them? Does this ever creep into your mind? It does mine!

I try to tip well in hopes that when I need something, the help will be easier to find. It IS a selfish point of view, but I can't tell you how many times it has worked to my advantage. It works out great for everyone, and it works well with every tipped employee throughout our entire vacation.

Ewww! LOL I have thought about it though on previous vacations (not WDW - this is our first trip! )

I feel for the mousekeeping - they work hard and probably put up with alot of junk from tourists who want all they can get from a resort. owever, I HATE to tip when I'm paying 400+ for a room. The funny thing is, we only tip housekeeping at WDW - it would never dawnon me to tip at a normal hotel. BTW, I do tip bellmen, it just seems right.

I hope we get some kind of special services.
That is the reason I am saving to stay on site!
Does Mickey still call and wake you up in the morning?
Been so long since I stay on site. My kids are thrilled about it.
I think between 2-3 dollars a day is a good amount to tip for mousekeeping.
On your last day if it has been the same mousekeeper, then add a little more with a big thank you note!

Like others here, I don't travel that much and it never occured to me to tip. I certainly will this time tho'. Do you tip the bus drivers? We will be w/o a car this time and will use the busses entirely.

we didn't see anyone tip the WDW bus drivers as we went from the resort to the parks. should we have tipped is a good question! does anyone tip them? I always assumed they were more like a city bus driver (well paid-not tipped).

As to bellhops, it used to be about a dollar a bag, a couple more if they show you around and offer other help. Is it the same lately?

We always tip the airport transportation too, whether it is a town car or van driver. Van driver gets a dollar a bag, town car driver gets 10-15.

I have never seen anybody tip a bus driver....I suppose that if you wanted to compliment them for the wild ride, you could.

I can hear the announcement now...."You are riding Bill's bus. This is the closest thing you will experience to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad outside of the ride itself, so hold onto to your children and get ready to go."

"And don't forget to check out Bob's bus, a.k.a. Test Track, on the way back from Animal Kingdom."
