Working on what this is going to cost me to cruise with DS in 2005.

Are the amounts on Disney for tipping. PER day or PER cruise?

Thanks

:earsgirl:

The amounts on the Disney Cruise Line web site are per cruise per person.

So, as an example, a party of four (age does not factor in) on a seven day cruise had a "suggested" tipping amount of 25.75 per person for their Dining Room Server.

$25.75 x 4 = $103.00 for the cruise as a "suggested" amount.

P.S. Love the running total for your Cruise Fund! :teeth:

Can you tell me who all we tip?? and the amount per person?

This information is from the Disney Cruise Line web site:

What about gratuities?

We'll make it easy. It is customary to give gratuities in recognition of service, which you will most likely be treated to in abundance aboard the ship. As a guideline, may we suggest the following:

Per Guest per cruise_______ 3-Night___4-Night___7-Night
Dining Room Server _________11.00___14.75____25.75
Dining Room Asst. Server ______8.00___10.75____18.75
Dining Room Head Server______2.75____ 3.75____6.50
Stateroom Host/Hostess______10.75___14.50____25.25
Dining Manager______________ Your Discretion
Room Service ________________Your Discretion

For your convenience, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to bar, beverage, wine, and deck service tabs. All gratuities can be charged to your room charge.
At the Walt Disney World® Resort, 15% is the customary gratuity at restaurants and bars.

Thank you - I found it right after I asked..

Our tip for our seven nights is over 600.00.. That's good to know before I go. lol

Thanks for the info.

I am funding this cruise fund any legal way I can. The total will be off since I do not know what is in the change jar. But when that piggy gets full in the bank it goes.

I have a seperate account already set up for it.

I am sure I will have tons of questions.

Now wish my bonus would hurry up cause that is the down payment

You sound like me.. I'll make this cruise happen, even if I have to give up pop/soda.. lol

You have a while to save, I only have 12 month- 15 days.

I have about $30 saved for room service tips!!! Just from change from $$. Off to the bank Monday to change it back into $$

same here Rebecca :)

we also tipped the teen counselors (noncash; used calling cards)

The amounts listed are per person for the entire cruise. I basically budget $80 per passenger cruising when I budget the 7 day cruise. That way, I don't have to think about "who gets what" until I actually am doing the tips on the last night of the cruise, but I have accounted for it in my planning. We've generally been very impressed with the service, and tend to tip over the recommended amount...but at least the recommended figure helps with the planning.

Hey, Buckleybunch-

Try this link: http://members.aol.com/CruiseTip/. it worked for me to get an idea of tip charges. I'm probably one of the few who know where Valley, NE really is. Formerly from Omaha. Take care.

Dean

Hi Dean,
Thanks for the link. I just added it to my favorites.
I'm formerly from Omaha too.. lol Most people don't know where Valley is at. Any more it seems like a sub of Omaha.
