Hi everyone,
Just a quick question, if we buy a drink at say the Tambu Lounge at the Poly or at the pool bar etc, do we have to tip the server or not? If so how much usually is required? Thanks!!!

Any tipping questions have to be posted in the Tipping Thread at the top of the Restaurant Board.

Sorry, I don't know the answer. I don't drink.

It's customary to tip bartenders - I usually try to give them at least a dollar or perhaps $2 if they get more than one drink. Sometimes it's cheaper to run a tab and tip 15% when you close it out.

OP don't be surprised if this thread gets closed since tipping can get be a touchy subject so all tipping threads get closed here... there is a tipping thread sticky at the top of the Restaurant Board.

But yes, it's customary to tip a bartender basically the amount you'd tip a person at a TS restaurant.

Bartender:
. . . 10%-20% of bar bill
. . . minimum 50¢ per soft drink
. . . minimum $1.00 per alcohol drink

Servers: (calculate excluding taxes)
. . . 10% poor service
. . . 15% adequate service
. . . 20% very good service

. . . CNN
. . . Emily Post
. . . Tipping.com

NOTE: Disney recommends 18% tips, but that is above the 15% accepted standard in the US. The 18% comes from a Disney-union negotiated rate as a recommendation, and no other source.
