Tipping on Magical Express

I'm like Steve Martin in my blue heaven, I tip everyone and I tip them too much just get a rise out of the people who feel the need to get pissy when others like to spread the love around :tiptoe:. Actually that's not true, I tip cause it makes me feel good.

And if you haven't seen the movie, it's a must see, even if you have to pay for it :).

Our DME driver was AWESOME on the way back to MCO. He was so informative and entertaining!

However, I didn’t have any money left to tip him with. :headache: I was so upset. I vowed next time to set aside money to tip the driver next time!

Same here as others I tip if someone handles my luggage or goes above his basic job. Driving the bus=basic job requirement, having to load and unload my luggage=tip.

Was it Ruben?

Completely agree. I revert automatically to the "basic job requirement" particularly in the face of "opportunistically placed" tip jars - as if pouring me a basic black cup of coffee at a coffee shop or handing me an order of french fries at a festival food booth rises above that standard? I think not.

Haha yes it was.

That's so funny. There was 4 of us and were the only ones on at FW. It was my daughter he asked the last joke too as we got to MCO.

I think it was "How many sandwiches does it take to get from WDW to MCO?"
"Just one, a Ruben."

He was great remembering everyone by name etc. I wonder if he can be requested? :D

He did keep up a running show that's for sure. I think he probably got names from the DME letters and tried to make sure he knew the kids. He did have a lot of jokes that's for sure.

I haven't tipped when I just hopped on the bus with no luggage. But now that I travel with my own ECV I will certainly tip for the extra service to get me loaded on the bus.

And let me add this to the discussion. Tipping RAC people. This is the same as curbside checkin at the airport. I doubt anyone uses curbside checkin and doesn't tip. But, I seldom see anyone tipping the RAC CMs. When dd and I checked out last Monday, we had just one checked bag each. And of course, I had no change with me....I really should know better but didn't plan accordingly. Went to the food court for breakfast, then back to the RAC stand, and tipped the CM then. Man, was she surprised!!!!! But truly, please keep your RAC CMs in mind when it comes to tipping.

That's a great point. I'm not sure I've seen them tipped either. I just follow the rule that I have to tip anyone who touches my bag.

I see threads every now and then where people say they travel with no cash. I'm not sure how they ever tip anyone. Maybe they don't.

I always tip the RAC CM's so that my luggage doesn't end up in Acapulco instead of Rhode Island.:o

We are inexperienced travelers and only know from the dis that we should've tipped. :disrocks: Sorry to those we missed at the all stars and aoa but we tipped on both our fort trips. Thanks for mentioning it.

So...you prefer TF Green to Acapulco!!!! Especially today! Have to say, I've had my checked bags arrive at Green about 5 hrs prior to my arrival!!!! They haven't lost one yet!
