Tipping on DDP questions

Ok, I have been reading the threads, but I haven't seen anything that says that the mandatory 18% gratuity will be added to all bills. Has this been confirmed and how will it work? Do you give them your card for the meal and cash for the gratuity??? I am leaving in less than 2 weeks and would like to be prepared when I get there.

It will not be added to all bills. It will be added only to the bills of DDE (Disney Dining Experience) members (different program from the DDP, or Disney Dining Plan) and to the bills of all parties of 6 or more.

Nobody has tried it yet - it doesn't start until January 1, 2008 - but most likely you would use the dining credit on your card for the meal and then arrange for separate payment of the gratuity (using cash, credit card or credit card linked to your room key).

If you are on the DDP and a party of 6 or more, the best thing is to have room charging privileges. Then the tip can just be added to your room. Paying it with a credit card would be about as easy as well. Paying it with cash will greatly slow you down in getting out of a restaurant, so I would stick to plastic.
