Tipping Massage Therapist

I see a massage therapist in a chiropractors office. Someone asked me if I tipped her. I never thought that they should get a tip. I don't tip a doctor, dentist or chiropractor. What do you do?

I also see a massage therapist at a chiropractor's office and I never tip her. At her prices, I can't afford the massage if I have to tip too.

I've never had a massage at a chiropractor's office, but when I have one at a spa I always tip.

My DH is a Chiropractor who has a Massage Therapist in his office. She does not expect to get tipped.

I think that's the difference between medical procedures and pure pampering! I would never tip if I got one at a doctor's office, but have always tipped at the spa!

Now if only I can get a prescription for one..I wouldn't have to pay the fee or the tip....but alas, my doctor isn't buying it...so it's off to the spa I go!

They already make too much money. The practice of tipping peeves me in general, but the tips these people get are ridiculous.

None of the massage therapists I know make "too much."
Especially the ones working in my chiropractor's office. When you
need really good body work and you find a good therapist-it's
really good to tip. It's very hard work and most therapists net
less than $20 hourly; they don't work 40 hour weeks unless they
work every day. The work is too physical. Good therapists totally give of themselves to heal you; it's good to give back.
If tipping is such a hard thing to do-you must NEED a massage!
LOL We should all take care of each other-then the government
won't have to do it!!!

Therapists in a chiropractor's office are different than therapsts in a spa, I think, although I am not sure why I think this.
