Tipping Guidelines

Could someone give me guidelines on tipping procedures for maid service at HRH? I know when we did Disney I tipped daily (made up special envelopes for each day). What does everyone else do?

I would do it just the way you do it at Disney. you can tip daily or at the end of your trip. Whatever you're comfortable with. I have done it both ways, really didn't see any difference.

I leave a tip every morning as we leave the room. It's fun to hid it around the room and see if they can find it! Just kidding! I leave it daily instead of at the end in case a different person cleans the room each day.

I tip $1.00 a person per day.

We are a family of 4 and I do the same thing Debbie does but they usually get $5 since I never have the singles!

From what I've heard they have a tip pool for the maids, so even if a different person is cleaning the rooms daily they figure out where it belongs. I tip one dollar per person per day. if I see the turn down people I give them a couple of bucks. I wish there was someone that actually worked as a chamber maid that could give us the inside edition! On all the message boards I read I have never come across a chamber maid's view. i think we know the views of almost all the other hotel positions.
